Amazing Excurision Experience in Cozumel - A truly unique experience to learn a little about the Mayan culture, how to cook an amazing meal using local techniques and ingredients, all with a group of new friends. Oscar and Bruno are amazing. This is by far the best value of any excursion my wife and I have done!!!

Fantastic Experience & A Highlight of Our Visit to Mexico - We are fans of cooking classes when traveling and the Barefoot Fish Cookout at Barracuda Beach Club did not disappoint. In fact, it was the highlight of our visit to Mexico this spring, which encompassed three cruises and five different port stops on both the Pacific side of the country and in the Gulf of Mexico. From the moment he greeted us at the cruise port, our guide Bruno made us feel like family. A native of Cozumel, he's been preparing this dish--which dates to Mayan times--since he was a child. He explained some of the history of Cozumel and how families have been making fish this way for centuries. All the ingredients were prepared for us when we arrived. Ample margaritas were provided. We conducted the entire experience on the beach--but in the shade--in bare feet. In addition to learning to prepare Tikinxic fish (using mahi mahi), we were served a fantastic cerviche made from red snapper that a member of Bruno's team had just caught that morning. It doesn't get fresher than that! We were a small group--two couples and an (adult) family of four. We highly recommend this experience.

BEST THING YOU’LL DO - Best thing we did all vacation! From the moment we arrived from our cruise ship, we were welcomed like family. They had us kick off our shoes, handed us refreshing margaritas, and instantly made us feel relaxed and at home. Personal and unique! Even drawing in the sand as they explained the history. Truly felt like one big family sitting together after for our meal. We’ve brought the recipes we learned home as a new staple meal. Cherry on top was the beautiful property we enjoyed while digesting. The warmest wishes and thank you from the Webb family!

Fantastic Afternoon! - Bruno was our leader and he was amazing! His knowledge of the history was excellent as it was his family history too. He is a great story teller and teacher. We learned so much more than how to cook fish! His assistant Oscar, and the fishing Nija, made it a very memorable experience. Plus we made a great fish lunch! With the small group, it was an intimate experience, like attending a family get together and listening to your parents and grandparents telling stories of the old times, how things were done, how people came and went from the area, and how it touches today Highly recommend this tour!

Memorable experience! - What a great experience! Bruno was the perfect host and cooking instructor. And we got a cultural history lesson along with our cooking lesson. From the very beginning when we kicked off our shoes in the sandy beachside pavilion, through the food prep, to the finish when we shared the meal we had prepared together, it was a fantastic class. Bruno was open to questions and quick to share where we could find ingredients when we got home. He called us family and treated us as family. I’ve done lots of cooking classes but this one was very special. Thank you, Bruno, for making our day in Cozumel so memorable!

Best Cooking experience in Cozumel! - This was a fantastic experience. Bruno was an amazing host as he taught us about the 2000yr history of Tikin Xic and how it is still a special dish in today’s culture. We each prepared our dish under Bruno’s instructions and then it was expertly cooked and served to us for lunch. What a great meal! We have done many cooking classes and this was a very special one!

A wonderful day in Cozumel - We took this trip as an excursion from the Celebrity Summit cruise. Bruno met us from the ship and immediately made us feel like family. He gave us some history of the area and of the dish that we were preparing. Then he walked us through the preparation step by step. He was an excellent teacher and Oscar kept us supplied with Margaritas and Hibiscus tea while Luis provided us with ceviche and an tended our fish on the grill. Everything tasted delicious. Then we had time to swim and sunbathe in a very quiet location. A perfect day.

Wonderful Experience! - Oscar, Bruno and crew were fantastic. From the moment we left it was informative and fun. We learned about Mayan culture, enjoyed fresh cuisine and relaxing in the pool and hammocks by the pool. Everything was seamless and enjoyable. Small group of 8 on a day with 5 cruise ships including the massive Icon in port. Definitely recommend!
