Cycling tour - Although there were only two of us, the tour took place with Gris. The e-bikes were loaded on a pickup truck and we drove about 25 kilometers to the park "Parque Ecologio". In the park we visited several sights: a lagoon with crocodiles, the lighthouse and a beach club. The tour was very well organized and we got a lot of information. The wheels were great. Gris was a great guide. We've seen a lot we couldn't have found on our own.

Amazing Trip and Guide - This was an excellent excursion. My wife and friends had a great time. The guide was fantasy and knowledgeable. Food at the lunch beach stop was great. In some ways it was the best food on our trip. Our guide Gris was great. She connected with all of us, especially my wife and our friends and we were all grateful for the experience.
I highly recommend this trip. We all wished we could have stayed longer.

Enjoyable outdoor bike ride. - The e bike tour was very enjoyable. Our guide Chris was friendly and knowledgeable. Chris explained many of the areas we stopped to get a closer look. Our lunch stop was timely and the food was good. The bike equipment was in good condition and performed flawlessly.

Great Excursion in Cozumel! - We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise that made a stop in Cozumel, and after seeing the reviews of the excursions offered by the cruise ship, I decided to find something else - and reviews led me to the Punta Sur Eco Beach Park Electric Bike Tour! The meeting point was a short less than 10 minute walk from the port, easily found. We met Gris - our wonderful tour guide for the excursion. There were only two of us on this tour, so we drove with Gris in an air conditioned pickup truck to the park - the bikes were in the back. Gris supplied us with water and sunblock - I had forgotten to put it on my face back at the ship (!) - and off we went! 30 minutes later, we were at the park.
After a quick tutorial on the electric bike, we were off to tour around the park. We stopped at a small Mayan ruin, an area where crocodiles live (and a climb up a treehouse of sorts), a lighthouse and then the beach, where we had lunch and then went in the water. Not going to lie - Cozumel is HOT - but the breeze from the bike was pleasant, and the water at the beach was just heavenly. We could have snorkeled, but neither of us felt like it. Gris was lovely and personable, and a wonderful guide. The food was delicious, but know if you buy an alcoholic beverage, you'll have to pay extra. Also, if they offer you guacamole, that is also extra, even though on the "what's included" section of the tour information it says a "guacamole entree" is included. It's not.
A few folks did come to the table to try and get us to buy some of the trinkets they were selling, but they always asked Gris's permission first and when we declined, they left without complaint.
A note - bring towels from the cruise ship...I forgot to bring some, and they do not provide any (it was in the directions for the excursion, I just forgot). Also, we got fairly dirty from the water-filled potholes on the dirt road (it had just rained) so don't wear anything white or new. The road you drive on with the ebike is riddled with potholes so the ride was bumpy at times, but super fun. I had never ridden on an ebike and am pretty risk averse and I had a blast.
I highly recommend this tour if you want a combination of something active and something relaxing. We were a small group (2 plus the guide) but Gris told us that they keep the tours small, with no more than 15 in a group.
Bathrooms - there is a bathroom at the meeting spot, which Gris suggested we use before we left. There is also a bathroom at the lighthouse (maybe an hour into the tour), and again at the beach club/restaurant. So if you have an active bladder and worry about proximity to a bathroom, there is really no need to be concerned!

The journey is worth it. Wear plenty of sunscreen

Trip cancelled last minute with no notice. Difficult refund process - Our tour was cancelled so we didn't actually get to experience the trip - the reason provided was that there wasn't enough people to make the tour worthwhile for the tour company.
The cancellation itself was fine with us but we received 0 notice of this cancellation and weren't told of the cancellation until we arrived at their location despite having booked the tour 2 days in advance. They said they knew that they would cancel it the day before but just did not inform us.
We were told we could get a refund but we have to call their number. Their number was not connected so calling was impossible so I requested a refund through TripAdvisor. I still haven't received the refund.
Not providing notice for cancellation demonstrates a complete lack of respect for our time. We were staying in playa del carmen so we had already paid for the ferry to cozumel as well as a taxi to the location, not to mention we had planned our day around the tour. They failed to inform us of the cancellation until we arrived at the location for the tour, despite having numerous opportunities to do so.
Refunds resulting from a cancellation on the tour operators end should be automatic and not require us spending hours chasing down our money when the tour operator cancelled the tour for frivolous reasons.

Cancellation upon arrival - Cancelled upon our arrival in the morning. Did not give a reason. Could rebook another date or get our money back, but did not help in finding a replacement tour to punta sur.

Poor customer service. - The tour was canceled for weather. Which I completely understand and I tried calling to see if it was going to be canceled before showing up but was unable to get a hold of anyone. No one notified us that it was canceled- we had to take a taxi there - only to find out we couldn’t go, and then had to take a taxi back to the hotel. All out of pocket expenses. All of which could have been avoided if a simple text or phone call had been made. When I showed up for the tour, the guy asked if we wanted to reschedule. Why would we reschedule with a company that did not take the time to let their customer know we could not go on the tour??? Bad business practice! Also, I then had to call Viator to make sure they knew we were canceled for the refund. They told me that we had to wait to make sure that the supplier (beach bum) had in fact canceled. They did, but it seemed to me that beach bum didn’t want to cancel so they could still receive the tour money. I’m tired of the attempts to take advantage of you as a tourist. Be aware- not all tours are like this- but this one does seem to be a bit sketchy. I love bicycles- I was really looking forward to this tour and was prepared to ride in the rain with ponchos and appropriate footwear. I was ready to go rain or shine.

Viator do not refund fully even if they cancel - I booked through Viator (never again). They took payment without checking if the tour was going ahead. They cancelled without telling me., so I incurred costs getting to the operator site - only to be told it was cancelled. When the refund arrived I was $11 short due to changes in currency exchange since booking- The viator agent was arrogant: officious and defensive. All in all I will never use Viator ever again!
