A ‘ MUST-DO’ in Cozumel! - Erin, our tour guide, was amazing! Not only did she provide knowledge about the food and the customs, she was very passionate aboutCozumel! She was engaging, friendly and funny and an awesome person to be around for 3 1/2 hours. Highly recommend this tour to get a taste of real Cozumel cuisine and to learn about the people! You’ll never see these places as a tourist!

Beyond Expectations - Don't Miss It! - Our Sixthman Food Network cruise had a scheduled stop in Cozumel, Mexico and I had never been to Mexico, so I looked for an excursion that would give me authentic Mexico. The NCL offerings didn’t interest me and I found Cozumel Food Tours through Trip Advisor and HGTV. I posted on our facebook group and got 19 other people willing to give it a try. We were totally blown away by the experience! We met shipboard and walked together to the meeting point at the MEGA super store 12 minutes and within sight of Langostino Port. It was an easy paved walk through the port shops that posed no problem for a wheelchair quest. Our fantastic guide Erin met us and escorted us to two vans with AC that transported us throughout Cozumel for the next three plus hours. We visited four family-owned restaurants, one family-owned bakery that provides most of the bread and goodies for the resorts, and a local market. At each restaurant we were welcomed by the owner and his family and shown to a long table ready for us. Erin, a college professor, had chosen our delicious offerings at each stop to reflect typical food and described each in detail even instructing us how to taste items with different additions to get the full experience. Gerry, another college professor, joined us at the market and together they showed us indigenous products, had us smell and experience the fruits, vegetables, fresh meats and fish of the community that shops daily for fresh never frozen food. We ate, drank and learned so much over our tour, I felt like I had gotten the absolute best experience I could have ever hoped for. I don’t know how Cozumel Chefs could provide such quantities of outstanding food and drink, great transportation, and impressive tour guides at such a low price. I did not find out until afterwards that the guides work only for tips so sent an additional tip after the fact. I 100% recommend the Cozumel Food Tour and If I ever return to Cozumel intend to take one of their offered cooking classes if I can talk myself out of doing the Food Tour all over again!

A must do for foodies - Don't eat breakfast before you go. Erin was a great host, very informative and accommodating. We only ate at places where the locals eat. The food was 10/10 at every stop and the food came out very quickly. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Taste and learn the local cuisine! - We were on a foodies cruise, so experiencing the local, casual cuisine off the beaten path made sense. I would never have known or tried this restaurants on my own--most are small and family run. An excellent experience, much more than we expected. Our group of 20 rode in 2 bus taxis; they were able to accommodate a member in a wheelchair. We hit 4 restaurants, a food market, and a bakery. The food was excellent at every stop. Our tour guides, Emily and Gerry, both explained the basics, and then how to change the dish with the sides/sauces available at each stop. You had your choice of an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage at each restaurant so we sampled the local beers. They were able to accommodate the food allergies in our group. The highlight for me was probably the whole fish dishes. One of them looked so scary we didn't want to try it, but it turned out to be fabulous! We ate way too much and enjoyed every bite. And our tour ran longer, perhaps because there we were such a large group. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat. Much better than the tourist attractions!!
