Informative and Delicious - Our family of 6 adults had a wonderful cooking class with Chef David. He warmly welcomed us into his home and taught us about the history of authentic Mexican cooking. Thereafter, the cooking began! His instructions were clear, his support readily available and his recipes delicious. We highly recommend!

Amazing cooking school experience - Chef David was extremely knowledgeable in food science and Mexican food history. The dishes were amazing! We made four courses and used herbs from his garden. My knife skills improved immensely with his tutoring. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !

Best Part of Our Trip So Far - There’s a reason this has a 5-star average - Chef David is the real deal. Before the class, Chef David messaged me to check if the menu was what I want. We had a brief back and forth and he tweaked it to accommodate my dietary preferences, which was great. When our class started, Chef David spent a while educating us on Mexican cuisine and foods that are and aren’t indigenous to various regions. He is super knowledgeable and it was fascinating. Our food consisted of a nopales (cactus) salad, tortilla soup, enchiladas verdes, and red snapper. It was seriously the BEST food. It was a great experience and I highly recommend if you love good food.

Absolutely Worth It! - We had the best time at the Private Mexican Cooking Class with a Licensed Chef in San Miguel. The food was absolutely delicious, and I was amazed at how much we learned—not just cooking techniques, but also the history and origins of the ingredients (you’ll be surprised where some of it really comes from!). I’ll admit, I’m not a great cook, but I walked away with so many tips and more confidence in the kitchen. My husband and our friends, who are all excellent cooks, were equally impressed and learned new things too—which says a lot! The experience felt so personal since the class was held in the chef’s home. We were welcomed by his wonderful wife, and by the end, even got to meet his very cool kids. It was such a special touch that made the whole day unforgettable. If you’re in San Miguel, I highly recommend this class—whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned cook, you’ll leave full, happy, and inspired.

Book this class right now you won’t regret it. - It’s a must do if you want to really understand the Mexican food and culture. The Chef welcomed us warmly into his home with his lovely family making fun appearances. The food is divine and the information he imparted on us is incredible. We would come back again and again. Don’t bother making dinner reservations- you will be full for the rest of the night

Master Chef, Master Teacher - I can’t recommend Chef David’s cooking class enough! From start to finish, he was warm, courteous, and incredibly knowledgeable. Days before the class, he provided us with a wide variety of menu options, then guided us through each recipe with clear instructions, fascinating history, and helpful cooking tips. His passion for both food and teaching shines through—Chef David is truly a master chef and a master teacher.

Best Chef & Instructor - Chef David is an amazing instructor. He’s originally from Germany. His knowledge of foods and the history of how they came from and to various parts of the world added to our enjoyment of the class. The recipes he chose to teach were delicious we made everything with all fresh ingredients. I highly recommend this class to anyone wanting to take a cooking class. David is the only certified chef in San Miguel with many years of experience.

Foodie or not, Book it!! - Prepare to learn (and eat) from a very personable, talented Chef! Chef David gave me an in-depth history of contributions Mexico has given to the worlds food development. Then we began cooking. Chef David showed me several types of dried peppers from serrano to guajillo to ancho and then we started chopping and creating! From a base of Chicken broth to authentic Tortilla soup to Snapper Veracruz to Enchiladas Verde and then desert! I'll never be the chef he is but I learned many techniques I can use in everyday cooking. He also has an amazing garden which we picked from for our dishes. Once our class was finished, he sent me ALL of the recipes we cooked. Whether you are a foodie or just hungry, you can't miss with Chef David!
