A New Taste of Mexico - I have been to numerous cooking classes around the world and I would rate this right at the top level. Anna is a gracious teacher and clearly loves what she does. We prepared two main courses and an amazing salsa. Everything was delicious and is something I will prepare again. I am a cookbook author and create recipes for an Italian based wine club, and I learned a lot today. Anna gave us the history of the dishes and brought them alive. We did the actually preparation, which was very fun.

Learned to cook authentic... - Learned to cook authentic salsa verde and salsa Rojo. The cactus salad was my favorite. It paired well with the chicken dish and frijoles. Definitely recommend this class. Thank you chef Ana!

Fun, Informative, Lovely, and Yummy! - I highly recommend the cooking class with Chef Ana Berenice. The home and kitchen are beautiful. Berenice is warm and friendly and she balances the fun of the event with useful teaching and guidance. She treated us with fresh tamarind juice, followed by good wine. We made tortillas from scratch and by hand, salsas using a molcajete, two kinds of asado (de pollo con salsa verde and de puerco in the "de bodas" style), and frijoles. We enjoyed getting to know other class members too and got to eat the generous lunch in a lovely dining room. If I go to San Miguel again, I'd like to take more classes with Ana Berenice!

Yum and FUN! - Fantastic! Chef Berenice is fun, knowledgeable and exceedingly organized. She has an amazing ability to combine her culinary skills with a firm grasp of history (who knew that the Lebanese influenced Mexican cooking??) and a good sense of humor to guide you through making a wonderful meal. She herself is all of the ingredients you'd need for a fun/ informative afternoon. I'd highly recommend this class - Really a highlight of our trip!

Mexican Cooking for All - The cooking class was held in a beautiful house and kitchen.
Our teacher was very knowledgeable about the area the recipes came from and the recipes were a great choice. I was impressed that she could change the recipes to go along with my plant based diet with no oil. We would highly recommend to all.

Absolutely Phenomenal Cooking Class - An absolutely phenomenal experience, we made salsa, cactus salad, poblano rice and a pork dish from chef Ana’s home town in Northern Mexico. Her English was amazing and she guided us through the steps eloquently. I highly recommend taking her class, the house and kitchen is stunning and was the highlight of our trip to SMA! If you are vegetarian or have food allergies let her know ahead of time so she can prepare. 10/10 would recommend!

More than a cooking lesson - a region's culture and history expressed in food. - Receiving expert guidance from a charming and engaging chef who was able to draw from her extensive culinary background to bring the food of her region to life was a joy. She tied the food to the cultures and the history of her childhood in a manner neither of us have ever experienced. Ana is a lovely person with the ability to charm the spots off a jaguar. We both hope our paths cross with hers in the future.

Highly enjoyable cooking experience! - We had a wonderful time with chef Ana, learning about and cooking foods from northern Mexico. She took the time to explain the different ingredients and the history of the dishes. Added bonus was discovering we had some friends in common and getting a tour of her brother’s art studio. I highly recommend cooking with Cocina del Norte!
