Walk through the Seven Lakes, villa Angostura and San Martin de Los Andes - We took an excursion from the tourist group Bioceanica Turismo Bariloche. Francis drove and Sergio told us stories, characteristics and everything about the areas we were visiting, with a lot of humor. The places were beautiful despite the rain. The lakes are stunning. It's worth it.

Seven lakes - Beautiful all the lakes.
The road is 112 km to San Martin de los Andes.
Halfway there is the signage to go to villa Traful if one wishes.
The path is not optimal.
No GPS or wifi at villa Traful.
The lakes are all different with stunning natural beauties and views for very good photos..
I recommend driving.

Surprise in every corner - This path that I have done several times in the course of my life continues to have the beauty of the combination of lakes, mountains, waterfalls and lush natural forest with viewpoints in its path and trails to go down to the lakes with a tarmac path in good condition. I recommend it without a doubt

Unmissable tour! definitely beautiful! - Unique experience! would go that way a thousand times more!
After seeing all the options we decided to rent a car and do it on our own (below I leave the costs) and the truth was the most! we picked up the car at 10 am and started the tour to Villa la angostura, an unexplained landscape, we stopped at each of the lakes, the view is unique, the landscapes are so wonderful that you are marked. When we arrived at Villa la Angostura we followed the Gps until we almost reached a lake or port, I don’t remember well, and there we didn’t run into a restaurant that is on a high (SAMSARA) staffed by its owners, we were greeted by a beautiful and very playful dog, I can’t explain how well we ate and the attention is first, they took our order and within minutes they brought us a homemade bread with seeds and spectacular sauces. Really recommended!
Returning to the experience of the tour I recommend (whenever the weather permits) to do this road by car, as it allows you to manage the times in another way than on an excursion, you stop where you want for as long as you want, we encourage and we will never regret doing it.
I leave you the prices approx car rental..
We rent in Hertz that is located in the center of San Martin de los Andes, a day with total insurance and snow chains (we did not have to use them) $63700, about $s53 approx. and something important to keep in mind is that to remove the vehicle you are asked for a credit card guarantee (cannot be a debit card) of $600000 (u$S500) that later refund you to the days (it takes 2 to 6 business days to refund the money)

MAGICAL - It is the best excursion, a conjunction of the landscape, the guide Juan Carlos, and the group of people, who did not know each other, and it was a nice group that we continue to stay in contact with. UNFORGETTABLE INCREDIBLE BEAUTIFUL AND MAGICAL

Seven lakes road with snow!! - It is a wonderful course, we were surprised by a snowfall, it is convenient to suspend the course if you are not prepared. We stayed overnight in the gendarmerie parking lot as they closed the roads. Always bring water and some food. Anyway it was an unforgettable experience, snowy landscapes of dreams. Unmissable!!!!

A must when visiting Bariloche. Do preferably in small buses or by car to enjoy even more - The road to San Martin de los Andes is beautiful and worth knowing, the only disadvantage is that I take a tour that many passengers gather in a very large bus, so the trip slows down and there is very little time to know villa La angostura and San Martin de los Andes (20 min in La angostura and 2 hs in S. Martin with lunch included)
Either way, it's worth knowing.

Route 40 needs maintenance. - Circulation should be very careful given the poor condition of the route with wells that can spoil a pleasant stay.
