A Great walking tour that gave me valuable tips and insight on San Marino - I enjoyed this walking tour of the San Marino’s historic old town, even if it only lasted a couple of hours. The tour started when I met my guide, Andrea, at 10 am just outside the Porta San Francesco gate that led into the old town. Andrea took me walking through notable locations within the old town and he did a great job explaining to me the history of San Marino throughout the entire tour. The tour ended with us stopping by the Tourist Office to get my passport the San Marino stamp (FYI, for a fee of 5 Euros) and then stopping at a local spot called La Loggia for local food and wine tasting to end the tour. After I did the food and wine tasting I continued to explore the old town on my own with the tips and knowledge my guide gave me. Overall, I enjoyed this walking tour of San Marino and a big thank you to Andrea for the great job he did showing me around and introducing me to this wonderful and unique country. Definitely consider booking this private short walking tour, you’ll get invaluable tips and insight on the history of this country by a local. I highly recommend it! - Nolan

A must visit when you’re in Italy! - The tour was amazing, it is a great way to get to know the oldest country in the world. I'm glad we made a stop in San Marino. The guide was knowledgeable. We learned about it's history, how the country came to be, it's relations with Italy, it's current parliament, and how it celebrates annual holidays, etc. We took the cable car to the base of San Marino and the view was amazing, as was the view from the castle walls. We went in the fall, close to winter, so the sun was going down just as we're about to end the tour. The castle walls against the back drop of sunset made the Witches' Pass both beautiful and eerie. The local shop owners are also very friendly and restaurants are also very 'local', not overly decorated, not too fancy, gives a homey feel which is a nice break from all the tourist spots throughout our trip in Italy.

Great walking / history... - Great walking / history tour of the lower level of San Marino (our tour did not go up to the towers). Our guide was very knowledgeable of the history and current government structure of San Marino. These types of tours are a nice introduction to the city as they take you by the main sites. You can buy additional entry into any of the museums or art displays. Recommend this as a first stop when visiting San Marino!

Worth the trip - Our guide was terrific, showing us facets of the country we would not have found on our own. Especially liked learning about San Marino's history and its current governing structure--2 presidents at the same time, each with veto power over the other!

San Marino - a must see - San Marino is a wonderful destination, but most people don’t know that. I found its devotion to liberty, neutrality and independence moving. Our guide discussed the history of San Marino enthusiastically and knowledgeably. Based on our tour I’ll come back to San Marino to see and learn more.
