Knowledgeable, friendly, insightful experience. - David clearly knew his subject and was passionate about it. He took us to the sites in a manner that avoided large crowds. He also shared uncommon insights such as how some colors are produced using plants and how you can observe a solar eclipse through polished obsidian, both techniques the Indians used and may still use. He came equipped for changes in the weather as well. David gave an excellent, well-thoughtout tour for my wife and me.

Pyramids and Basilica make great double visit - The pyramids are an amazing visit - especially if you get there early doors when the crowds are down and the hot air balloons are flying. Our guide Eddy was so knowledgeable and brought it all to life. The Basilica is incredible - well it’s two really - huge yet full and very spiritual. Also get to see downtown Mexico City.

Made a big city and big history feel manageable - As first-time visitors to Mexico City, coming from a small city in New Zealand, the scale of the city can feel overwhelming at first. Having a private guide like Eddy to help navigate it all made a huge difference, and this tour was informative, comprehensive and very well paced. We visited Teotihuacán and the Basilica of Guadalupe, and Eddy (who is a fully licensed guide), made both experiences far more meaningful. At Teotihuacán, his experience really showed — he knew the best entrances and routes, helping us avoid unnecessary walking and crowds, while still seeing so much we would have completely missed without him. His explanations really made the site come alive and gave everything important context. He’s super friendly and relaxed, and was happy to chat about life in Mexico City as well as the history. He also took us to a restaurant popular with locals, where the food was fantastic and where we would probably have felt too intimidated to go on our own, as we don’t speak Spanish. It was a great way to briefly immerse ourselves in local life and culture. The tour included transport, and even though I can be a nervous and impatient passenger, I felt completely at ease with Eddy — even when stuck in a legendary Mexico City traffic jam! We’re really glad we chose a tour with him, as we got so much out of the day.

Crowd-Free Teotihuacán, Secret Murals and Perfect Timing - I booked this tour a week in advance and don’t think I could have made a better pick. David served as both my guide and driver, arriving at my Airbnb exactly on time (even 10 minutes early). The vehicle was pristine and well-stocked with drinks and also various maps and magazines about the sites we were going to visit. The tour started the moment we began driving. David shared fascinating insights into the history and landmarks of the various CDMX neighborhoods we passed on our way out of the city. David’s passion for Mesoamerican and pre-Aztec history was evident. He is very knowledgeable and strategically navigated the day so that we consistently stayed ahead of the crowds. We even beat the rush to the famous 'La Gruta' cave restaurant. One of my highlights was visiting lesser-known ruins that surprisingly few other tours seem to frequent. Setting 2,000 years old murals that were so well preserved is a truly fascinating experience if you appreciate anthropology / archaeology. The afternoon at the Basilica was equally moving - a deep dive into the religious epicenter of Mexico. Throughout the day, David was a fantastic 'maker' of memories, taking many perfectly timed photos without me even having to ask. On our way back, David also shared recommendations on other places to visit and navigating CDMX in general. This tour was the highlight of my time trip to CDMX. If you want to truly understand the ancient sites rather than just look at them, I highly recommend this tour.

A small history class disguised as a tour and worth every cent! - This was an incredible experience and our guide David was extremely knowledgeable. It was like taking a history class that you actually enjoy and pay attention in. When it says self paced that is exactly what it was. David was always checking in to see if we wanted to stop anywhere and that he catered the tour to us. He made us feel like it could be as long or as short as we needed. We definitely made a new friend in Mexico! Please do yourself a favor and book this tour you will not regret it!

Great tour with Eddie - Our tour with Eddie was fantastic. He arrived to pick us up on time, he was friendly, courteous, and shared so much information about Mexican history. He tailored our tour to our needs, was flexible, and checked in to give us options. It really felt like we got to spend the day with a friend. We can’t wait to be back in the city and book another tour with Eddie.

Absolutely amazing experience! - Absolutely amazing experience! Our private full-day tour to Teotihuacan and the Basilica was the highlight of our trip. Being able to explore everything at our own pace made it so much more enjoyable and relaxed. Our guide, Eddy, was simply fantastic — friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the history and culture of Mexico. He shared fascinating stories, answered all our questions, and made the entire day both fun and educational. The car was clean and comfortable, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. We felt completely taken care of and appreciated having the flexibility to spend extra time where we wanted. If you’re looking for a personalized and memorable way to experience Teotihuacan, ask for Eddy — he truly made the tour unforgettable!
