Favorite experience of the PR vacation! - Amazing adventure!
Our guide Joma was great. Communicated in advance. Picked us up right at our hotel. Spoke fluent English and Spanish. Drove safely. And most amazing- took pictures of the entire adventure! We didn't have to worry about bringing our phones because she took photos and videos and shared them afterwards.
The Charco Azul felt like being in a Jurassic Park movie. The lush green and the caves was an amazing contrast. Our group of 6 had ages 13 to mid-60s and everyone was able to climb and jump and swim and hike. It felt like real adventure. We saw bats and centipedes and fish and petroglyphs, Under and behind waterfalls. Just really wonderful. Probably our favorite experience on the week's vacation. And definitely something you cannot do without a guide.
Cuevos del Indio (Indian Cave) was also gorgeous. We learned all the history of the place and the Taino people, why they used the caves, etc. Learned about the geology of the cave formation, etc.
We stopped for lunch at a BBQ-type place. We were the only tourists in the place (which is how I like it). Roast chicken, rice and beans, ribs, fried fish, fried plantains, etc. All very good and reasonably priced. Nobody could finish all the food.
Got dropped off right back at our hotel.
Highly recommend! I will definitely do this again if I go back to PR.

Amazing experience - My son (13yo) and I LOVED this tour. Really one of a kind.
For Charco Azul: Swimming through the caves, seeing the fruit bats, the stalactites in the cave and the lush tropical forest outside was like a scene from Jurassic Park.
Joma took a lot of photos which was great because with the water we didn't bring out phones.
For Cuevo del Indio the scenery and the history of the place was really striking.
Joma was a great guide. She answered as wide range of questions about culture, history, geology, biology. Very knowledgeable.
If you have any balance issues you might consider bringing a hiking pole. If you are normally chilly, maybe a shortie wet suit. I was VERY cold by the end of the caving portion.
Overall would highly recommend and if I come back to Puerto Rico would take this tour again.

We had Jose as our tour... - We had Jose as our tour guide for the Indian caves and charcol azul. He was absolutely amazing. He was very knowledgeable and detailed in his explanations. He bonded very closely with our family. He was willing to take pictures for us. He made sure everything was safe and he was very funny. It felt like he was one of our friends and not a stranger. While we were on the shuttle ride, Jose asked us many questions and was very personable and he seemed like he really wanted to get to know us instead of just leading us on a tour. We will definitely book with this company again.

Thank you Joma! - Wow! What an incredible day this was! I booked this trip when I had a whole day to myself in Puerto Rico and it was absolutely amazing. This beautiful place and the stories about it expertly told by our guide Joma put light in my soul. Truly an unforgettable experience. I felt totally safe as a solo traveler (and afraid of heights!) too under her guidance. For me, just a cell phone dry bag for the river part, and then a towel, some sunscreen, cash for lunch, and a change of clothes in one bag to keep on the bus for after the river portion worked well. For shoes, I just swam in some thin soled tennis shoes with good grip, and they dried out enough after lunch for the second half of the day. I did end up losing my phone in the river cave near the petroglyphs (should have tied it better to my life jacket), but Joma went above and beyond and sent me a link to all the photos she took on her phone that day so I would still have pictures from the trip and let me snap a few too. I loved my experience so much I plan to book this tour again with my partner on my next visit! If you have a day, don't skip this one, and if you find a phone with an yin/yang cat on your trip let me know haha

Fantastic cave swimming. - The tour was fantastic. Our guide did a fabulous job leading our family through the caves. Jose made it easy for our kids, 8 and 10, to swim though caves and jump off rocks. We felt like the activity was safe the whole time.
The area that we went through was beautiful. It looked like something from a movie. Our tour guide did a great job talking about the scenery, the animals, and making the whole thing engaging.
Our 10 year old rated the tour 10,000 out of 10. Our 8 year old rated the tour 6 out of 5.
My husband and I rated the tour 5 stars out of 5, because we actually needed to enter a review in the app.

Charco Azul - Jose was our guide. The tour was great, an amazing place to visit. Keep in mind it is physical. You’re scrambling over rocks and logs, everything is slippery, and walking in rivers. Absolutely gorgeous, but know your limitations.
Jose told us about the plants, showed us 2 Taino petroglyphs, about the birds. We saw snakes, bats, and cave spiders. Jose was so knowledgeable. Absolutely recommend!

Wow! What a great day! - This was an exceptional excursion! Jose made it so fun and educational. There were 9 in our group and it was a nice manageable number. The river caving was so cool! Lots of climbing over rocks and shuffling along logs to reach the caves. We jumped off a couple of ledges and swam into hallways and caves. Our lunch was yummy! Jose helped us out with the choices and it hit the spot. The Indian Caves were closed so we went to another set of caves and natural springs to explore. Jose loves his job and made sure we were safe and we learned so much about the area and vegetation. Highly recommend!
