San Jose City Tour
San Jose - This tour offers a glimpse into the culture and history of Costa Rica through panoramic visits to museums and historical sites in San José. Participants will explore significant landmarks such as the National Theater, a national monument constructed by Costa Rican hands in 1897, also known as “The Jewel of San José.” The tour includes the Costa Rican Gold Museum, a site of great archaeological interest, and several other important locations in the city, including embassies, the National Stadium, the University of Costa Rica, the former train station, the national liquor factory, the Supreme Election Tribunal, the Legislative Assembly, the Metal Building, and various parks. This tour provides an introduction to the capital city and covers topics of importance such as the economy, culture, politics, religion, and current affairs.
Irazu Volcano - Cartago City - Orosi Valley
Irazu Volcano National Park - The tour begins with a journey south along the Panamerican Highway to the base of the “Iztaru,” an indigenous village that once existed on the volcano’s slopes and possibly inspired the name Irazu Volcano. At the summit, on a clear day, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking view of both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. As the tour descends to Cartago, a stop will be made at the Virgin of the Angels Basilica, a renowned pilgrimage site for many believers who travel for days or weeks on foot to reach it. The tour continues to the Orosi Valley, an area of exceptional beauty, where visitors can explore one of the few remaining colonial churches and enjoy a delicious traditional lunch at a local restaurant.
Doka Estate Coffee Plantations + La Paz Waterfall Gardens
La Paz Waterfall Gardens - The tour takes the Pan-American Highway to Alajuela City, passing by the Monument to the Farmer, the Monument to Juan Santamaría, and the famous Parque de los Mangos. During the ascent, a brief explanation about coffee, Costa Rica’s golden grain, will be provided. The journey continues through fern, flower, and strawberry crops. Heading towards the Caribbean area, a stop will be made at La Paz Waterfall Gardens, a natural park with spectacular trails leading to the Magia Blanca Waterfall, the largest and most impressive in the area. The park also features butterfly and bird observatories, a hummingbird gallery, an aviary, an old house, and a frog and serpentarium. After the walk, a delicious buffet lunch will be served before returning to San José.
San Jose to Arenal Volcano
Baldi Hot Springs - On the way to the Arenal Volcano, a stop will be made in Sarchi, known as the birthplace of Costa Rican artisans. In Sarchi, visitors can admire various crafts and souvenirs and see the world’s largest ox cart, as recognized by the Guinness Book. The journey continues through diverse plantations, including pineapple and plantain farms, mango groves, ornamental plants, and cattle ranches, until reaching the small town of La Fortuna. Here, lunch will be enjoyed at a cozy restaurant with a stunning view of the volcano.
