Traditions and culture of Mexican cooking - A great experience from start to finish! Francisco has a fun personality and sense of humor. He taught us alot about vegetables, meats and multitudes of chilis at the market. His restaurant is small but perfect for up close and hands on learning. Margaritas were sooo delicious, and now we can make them at home. We chopped, mashed, sliced, roasted and learned to make tortillas and guacamole from scratch. The main course was cooked to perfection. There is a small A/C unit but kitchen is hot, so I recommend dressing lightly and bring a hand held fan. Well worth it, and we would do it again!

Learning to cook the Mexican Way - This is full-on 5 hours, starting at the market, selecting vegetables and fruit, with tips on what makes a good choice, meat, ingredients for the rest of ouor meal. Then it was on to a tortilleria to buy some tortillas, and then to our primary location, which is upstairs from from a tequila shop. Our chef was with us the whole way, from start to finish and was hands on for us paticipants, there were 5 of us today. We started out learning how to make a perfect margarita, then moved on to our meal. Everyone had tasks at all stages and the finished product was wonderful: chicken mole, (which was so tender it melted in your mouth) and pork & pineapple pastor. All along we got to nibble on tortilla chips with salsa and guacamole (both of which we had made) and chicharones. As the class started before lunchtime, I recommend you come with a bit of an appetite so you can enjoy the snacks but be prepared to eat much more. Margaritas were freely refillable if you wanted more than one. I was so full of good food by 4pm that I cancelled later dinner reservations! Highly recommend this class.

Premiere Local Experience - This experience delivered more than expected. We met Francisco at the local market and he taught us a lot about how the locals shop and how to identify the best goods in the market. We bought all the food and he let us choose the menu. We chose Quesa Birilla tacos. After that, we went to a tortillaria where the staff was grinding hominy for the most authentic and organic MASA. From there, we went to Francisco’s restaurant and made some delicious margaritas while also chopping up the vegetables and cooking them for the dish. Chef had us press and cook the freshest corn tortillas. All the salsa, guacamole, beans, and tacos were delicious. We also had a tequila tasting downstairs as a bonus experience.

Great class with Fernando - We had a wonderful afternoon with Fernando. He was very patient and relaxed, and we learned so much. We made at least five dishes, including the best mole any of us had ever had. The class is about five hours long -- good idea to eat a solid breakfast before you arrive. Highly recommended!

Excellent Cooking Class - Although it was a long day we accomplished so much. You start in the Local Market. You stop at the various stands to get all the supplies to cook, then you go to the tortilla factory to see how fresh tortillas are made and get the ingredients to do it in class. We had a tequila tasting which was fun. But then the real fun started upstairs. We made a margarita and then were no holds on how many you drank. Maybe not the best idea as they were strong delicious but I had problems concentrating after just one of those dynamite margs. The instructor and staff were so much fun. The others in the class we met were such a blast and made the day enjoyable. The food was excellent and we were STUFFED after. For a Canadian the price is quite high but the enjoyment we got out of the day was incredible. I highly recommend.
