Bus tour of Chianti Area - My husband and I had not been on a tour like this before. The schedule was to glorious places that will stick in our minds forever. It was a bit fast and we foumnd we got round but felt a bit rushed. Cannot fault the tour guides who were very efficient but hated the constant commentary in the bus and could have left the winery out but still it was an interesting experience and I must have learnt a lot!

Wine tour - Good efficient tour which hit all the key spots. Tour guide, Alessandro, was great although a little more information at each stop would be appreciated.

Great towns and very informative Winery tasting. - In my home country of Australia you can get Olive Oil, Italian wine, and Balsamic Vinegar from the local supermarket but I would never had known what makes "real" Chianti wine, Balsamic Vinegar or Olive Oil if I hadn't taken this tasting tour! Very informative and the towns were a delight! Would have been 5 star if the tasting had included one of their premium wines. Our guide Elena was great!

Chianti and old towers - In this tour from Siena we were attracted by the possibility to combine the testing of Chianti wines with the visit to UNESCO medieval San Gimignano town. And we got what we were waiting for. Our guide was perfect. The Chianti products presentation was well done. As for the tour plan, we should make comments: - the tour plan at the Viator site starts in San Gimignano, then comes the Poggio ai Laghi winery and final walk in Castellina; - however, we got the inverse order and had only one hour in San Gimignano at the sunset time giving pleasant surrounding views, but hiding town interiors. Probably, the tour should be one hour longer and earlier with the announced order of sites. San Ginignano is worth at least an hour and a half. The list of tasting wines should be increased (we had only 3, including only 1 red Chianti). Anyway, we enjoyed the tour and recommend it to other lovers of Toscana history, nature and wines.

Disaster Life threatening Experience - My husband and I along with about 40 other travelers were trapped inside a burning bus for what seemed to be an eternity. Bus doors would not open, we couldn’t get out, as the bus filled with smoke. The bus driver said the fire extinguisher was empty! This was one of the most terrifying and life threatening experience both my husband and I have had. Why didn’t Viator, and Trip Advisor have a set procedure to make sure all busses, and vehicles used in their tours are checked for emergencies? Better training for their drivers and tour guides for emergency procedures are needed. Apparently no one was hurt after breathing the toxic fumes and possibly suffering psychological damage. Some tour participants reported leaving items on the bus, in their haste to escape, which were of course lost in the extreme heat. We hope this review helps to effect change in safety procedures for tour companies.
