Thanks - Ian was great!
Nick was great at explaining the basics and helping me get going when in the water (helping me turn, catching a wave etc)
I was very intimidated about trying surfing lessons even though I’ve wanted to for a long time, since I’m a woman in her 50s and not super fit. Luckily the staff at 2 Mike couldn’t have been kinder or more encouraging and I had an excellent experience. Special shout out to instructor Ruby! She was full of positive energy and communicated really brilliantly.
2 Mile was such a fantastic experience for our two kids and their friend. Everyone was warm, helpful and fun. And the kids' instructor Sam could not have been a kinder person and helped them undertake the whole process, not just being in the water. Thank you! We look forward to returning next year. Happy kids visiting from Toronto, Ontario
Great instructors, equipment was good, great experience overall. Would highly recommend to anyone.
While it would have been nice if someone mentioned that I would be walking over really really rocky terrain in my bare feet for quite a distance, overall, it was a lot of fun and I learned a lot of things that I can work on to improve my surfing. My instructor explained in great detail things about the ocean that will make surfing a lot easier in the future. I would definitely recommend you all and I will probably be back in the future.
Nick was my instructor; he was the last time also, and always adds local knowledge, not just in passing, but makes sure that you are listening and notice when he makes a point. For instance, at the Patch, what is good surf etiquette when paddling out to not get in others way / where the reefs are where to find the best position relative to the tide / how to recognize 'teaser' waves and one that can be caught / your paddling position on the board / watching and marking a position on the shore / what he notices about your particular board and suggestions on how it should be ridden / etc And just good company chatting away and making it a good social experience, not just you're out learning how to do a sport. After the lesson (090916) I took a day off to rest, then was out again today 091116, and his tips about watching others, watching the wave and figuring out when to turn and keep the board moving and powered up resulted in confident easy wave catching today! I will do more lessons for sure! and recommend to others.
Nick was great!!!!!! I jab some surfing experience but my fiancé had none. Nick was able to keep up with essentially two lessons at the same time. He helped with what he felt we both needed as far as instructions and tips. I can't wait to bring the entire family out for some lessons.
Nick was a very fun and attentive teacher in each of the three lessons (one group) so far. I really also feel the shop does a great deal to "process" all of us and get us out on the water. Very helpful. RJ
