First, our tour guides were late (probably about 10 minutes late) which would have been fine but we called the numbers that were provided to us on the confirmation email. However, neither of those people were actually the guides that showed up. The first restaurant was great but throughout the tour, there was not a ton of cohesive stories or history. It felt like the tour guides were constantly interrupting and talking over each other - it was hard to follow what they were saying. When I asked questions about various landmarks, they didn't have good answers whatsoever. After about 90 minutes in Chinatown, and some confusion about where we were going next we headed to North Beach. Throughout the entire tour it was unclear where we were going and how long things were going to take. It was clear that our route was not thought out before they came to meet us. This was demonstrated by the fact that we were brought to a closed restaurant. The two tour guides were also clearly trying to figure out where to take us while we were standing and waiting for instruction. My colleagues and I were very disappointed at the price point of your particular tour. We have paid approximately the same amount for a 16 person tour with a different company over the summer and we're upset the experience on Tuesday evening was certainly not up to par with a $900 tab. The amount of food we actually consumed was equivalent to $200, if that. We got two or three dishes at each restaurant between the six of us (two of which being the tour guides).

Dan Chew was a great host for this popular tour. He had some excellent information on both the China Town and North Beach history. He kept our interest for the whole tour. He only took us to the best food vendors and we totally enjoyed each of his choices. The best being the dessert!!! It is nice to go on a tour where he can really talk individually to each participant and this way you are able to feel you are contributing to everyone's enjoyment. We saw several "our of the way" places that most tour guides do not show the participant. This makes the tour really fun. So, thank you Dan for a wonderful evening full of food and excitement. We plan to do a different tour when we return to San Francisco through you. Thank you, Diane and Leroy Bonga
