Unforgettable Yosemite with the very best guides. - Ok, some people might say you can’t really see or do Yosemite in a day, so I was unsure. But it was incredible!
From very first contact until last drop off, we were all in the hands of a professional. Our guide Trevor was cheerful, prepared & welcoming from 5:10am until 8pm at night! Really he was brilliant and caring to everyone on board.
I found the bus really comfortable and the stop off for coffee & snacks perfect. Trevor also primed us perfectly for our Yosemite arrival with a fabulous video about El Capitan & the rock climbers. Truly I didn’t know about this aspect and it made it so meaningful when we arrived.
Trevor cherry picked our Yosemite visit, from a speedy entry to the very best viewpoints. He somehow crammed a 2/3 day visit into one. Fabulous. Our time in Yosemite was almost too beautiful for words.
I can’t recommend Trevor or Best Bay Area tours enough. We missed the Giant Sequoias due to weather but somehow I still came home elated!
I will remember this tour for a very long time & give it 5 stars plus! Amazing day trip for sure. 🌟 💫 🌟

Incredible Tour! - Highly recommend! I did extensive research on which Yosemite tour to sign up for, & I am so glad I picked this one!
My wife & I had the privilege of having Viktor as our guide. He texted the day before to confirm the location and time of our hotel pick up which was 5:40AM. We were picked up promptly at 5:40AM & collected a few other guests and were on the bay bridge before 6AM.
The shuttle itself was comfortable & fairly roomy. It has 15 seats including the driver. An aisle goes down the middle with 4 rows of double seats on one side, 3 rows of single seats on the other, & the back row has a row of 3 seats. We had 12 people in our party & Viktor. The shuttle had WiFi which does get spotty going up and down elevation as well as sufficient overhead storage for bags & such. The shuttle also has a TV where Viktor played a couple documentaries on the way there and back to set the mood. In between, Viktor played music softly & let us rest, but there were times he would update us with facts & info. The shuttle ride was the perfect balance of educational & getting to know each other as well as quiet time.
Viktor was very very communicative in setting expectations, times, rules for safety, van temperature, etc. all while teaching us educational facts about Yosemite on the way there & back. Very good driver as well. He checked in to make sure no one was getting sick as the road to Yosemite does get curvy.
Travel time is about 3-3.5 hours each way depending on traffic. It doesn’t feel that long as we made a halfway stop each way.
Heading there, we stopped at a local grocery store & a small locally owned market to use the restroom & get snacks, all while supporting local businesses & getting fun facts about the central California towns we were driving through. On the way back, we stopped for dinner for about 45 minutes in that same area.
We were lucky as the wait to get into Yosemite can get long, but we only had to wait 5 minutes & got in just after 10AM. Once we were in, we stopped at the welcome center to use the restroom & go over the itinerary for the day. FYI you almost certainly will have to use a porta potty in Yosemite, but Viktor provided us hand sanitizer/wipes.
We made about 6 stops total not including the giant sequoia trees. Stop 3 was our “free time” where we decided as a group that 1 hour 20 minutes was enough, as we wanted to have time to stop at the other locations. The other locations we stopped anywhere from 5-15 minutes for photos & fun facts. Viktor not only taught us so much on each stop, but he is a great photographer & helped us take photos & gave advice on how to capture the best photos ourselves. We got to see climbers on El Capitan, for which Viktor brought a telescope & binoculars for us to use. We also saw the half dome, waterfalls, & many other beautiful areas.
We did the giant sequoias at the end which took a little over an hour. It’s a beautiful hike as well. I appreciated Viktor giving the group a collective vote on how long to spend where in terms of the stops, as he prioritized giving us the best experience possible!
One thing I was worried about was not having enough time in the park, but in total we spent close to 7 hours inside the park including hiking, stopping for photos, driving around, & the sequoias. We were tired by the end of the day & headed back on the road by about 5PM.
We were dropped off at our hotel between 9-9:30PM.
I want to give a huge shoutout to Viktor! Extremely funny & does a great job of keeping the energy up & positive vibes all the way around.
There is a tip sign on the bus encouraging tips but Viktor made it clear that tips are appreciated but optional. However, please tip generously as this is a very tiring job & they deserve it! Being able to drive safely & teach all while babysitting the tour group is not easy in an 18 hour work day.
Overall, this is basically THE field trip you dreamt about when you were a kid! Thanks, Viktor!

Incredible Yosemite experience with an amazing guide, Steven. - My sister and I completed a full-day tour to today, and it was honestly such an incredible experience. Steven picked us up right on time at 5:35 a.m., and after picking up a few other travelers, we were on our way. Our first stop was at a really handy supermarket where we could grab breakfast, coffee, food for the day, and use the bathroom. Steven gave us a great tip that while there is a cafeteria in the park, it’s much more cost-effective to buy your own food beforehand which we really appreciated. Steven’s driving was excellent and we felt completely safe the entire time. He kept the journey fun with lots of dad jokes and great music, which made the early start totally worth it.
Yosemite itself is absolutely breathtaking. We saw stunning waterfalls, incredible viewpoints, and the summit of EL Capitan, which was unreal to see in person. We also visited the sequoia trees, including one called “Big Red,” which is thousands of years old! It was such an amazing experience to stand among trees with that much history.
Overall, it was an amazing day with a fantastic tour guide. Steven made the whole experience even more memorable.
Tip for future travelers: bring lots of layers, a raincoat, and possibly waterproof shoes as the weather can change quickly from warm to rainy or cold.
Highly recommend this tour!

A Must-Do Yosemite Tour from San Francisco - We had the most incredible experience on the Yosemite day trip with Best Bay Area Tours. It was a long day, but absolutely worth every minute.
Yosemite National Park is truly breathtaking. Seeing Tunnel View in person was a real highlight – the scenery is nothing short of spectacular and one of those moments that you’ll always remember. Standing opposite El Capitan was just as impressive – it’s a humbling experience being in front of something so massive and powerful, it really makes you appreciate the scale of nature.
Steven our guide was fantastic throughout the day – friendly, knowledgeable, and full of interesting insights that really added to the experience. The tour was well organised, ran smoothly, and we had plenty of opportunities to stop, take photos, and take it all in without feeling rushed.
If you’re visiting the Bay Area, this tour is an absolute must. Yosemite is unforgettable, and this is a great way to experience it.

See highlights of Yosemite with a funny and wonderful tour guide!! - Viktor was an incredibly funny and knowledgable tour guide. I loved hearing his stories of his dad taking him to the park when he was young - it was a really nice personal touch that i've heard from other local folks as well! Yosemite was so beautiful. We also were so lucky to have the best weather. We had ample time at each stop to see Tunnel view, El Capitan, Half Dome, and the Bridal Veil waterfall and time to take pictures! I appreciated him letting us know which bathrooms were best and encouraging us to go. The hike was a bit strenuous since I don't hike much but well worth it to see the giant sequoias! I also enjoyed stopping at the grocery store for food on the way there and back. I loved that he encouraged us to support the local shops and park, and talked about the local economy and changing times.
I got to know the other folks on the tour from all over the states and from abroad as well which was lovely! Viktor was also a very skilled driver through the mountain roads and the day sure did fly by!

Victors Yosemite VIP trip - We had Victor for our Yosemite tour, for the VIP experience. He was a very knowledgeable tour guide. He explained the rich history of the park and how instrumental John Muir and Theodore Roosevelt were to it's founding. How the park had inspired global brands such as the North Face and Patagonia. Even went into the California gold rush and critical the state of California is to the economy.
The tour is an unforgettable experience, gives a great appreciation for the work of the national park service.

BEST DAY TRIP DECISION! - SUCH A GREAT TOUR! My daughter and I were in San Francisco for a few days and decided to use one of our days to take this trip. At first I wasn’t sure because I realized there would be a lot of time spent traveling back and forth. Honestly, I didn’t even notice the hours going back and forth to Yosemite because Kurt was such a great tour guide. I also didn’t feel rushed at all. We got to pause and enjoy the beauty of Yosemite and even got to crawl through a giant fallen sequoia. We also learned so much as he is a wealth of information as well as just being friendly. I very much recommend this trip. Don’t rent a car and try to do this yourself. Kurt just knows all the best places to stop and you can sit back, relax, and take in the beauty relax :-)

Yosemite day tour. - From the very outset of receiving a personal call from our Guide Steven the day before the trip, to the final farewell at the end of the tour, this was just a fantastic experience. Pick-up was a 5:30am start, followed by a drive to our comfort/ breakfast stop in Oakdale. - plenty of freshly baked goods and sandwiches available plus good coffee! Then onwards to Yosemite.
Steven was very clear in giving information about each feature we stopped at, plus directions for walking to the view points (and back again!!!). I can not emphasise enough how good a guide Steven is, and fun too. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and would highly recommend this trip.
The bus was an almost brand new fully air conditioned Mercedes and the maximum amount of people allowed on board is 16. (We only had 6 on our tour), very comfortable and safe.
Keep up the excellent work and we hope to return again next year and take another tour with you.

Amazing scenery and time, a little bumpy at the end - Good: The day was beautiful, and so many amazing things to see. Our guide made sure we had time at each stop to take pictures and plenty of time for the hike. Definitely time well spent.
Not so good: Everything went well until the very end, when our tour guide proclaimed to everyone that he barely gets paid and that a 20% gratuity of whatever we paid was the expected amount he wanted. That would have been close to a $90 tip. My wife and I have traveled to ten countries in the past four years and never had someone boldly declare the dollar amount (or percent) they firmly expected. The tour is roughly $450 as is. We found his requested amount to be astronomical and in poor taste to insist this upon his guests.
