Additional Information

Exploring the true heritage of a city is often best achieved by delving into the tales spun by its most iconic taverns.

Each guided stroll takes you through a distinct neighborhood, punctuated by visits to 4 classic ‘legacy’ labelled bars, each offering a unique slice of local gastronomy. From bars frequented by the beatnik writers to an archetypal gold rush waterhole to Anthony Bourdain’s preferred joint. You’ll discover the rich past of every stop on our journey. Experience traditional watering holes like Vesuvio, Specs, Saloon, and Mr. Bings, with options for food stops. You’ll also take in legendary landmarks such as the TransAmerica building, Columbus and Coit towers or the Mission Dolores and Clarion Ally murals.

Your choices of food and beverages at every halt will cater to your own preferences and pace (30-60mins), even teetotalers have found the tour enjoyable. Be mindful that certain places are cash only.

We maintain small sizes for each tour to ensure a unique experience, and they span about 2 miles from start to end with a couple of gentle inclines.
