San Francisco Aquarium Shark Feeding Tour

Go behind the scenes at the Aquarium of the Bay and have the opportunity to feed the sharks and other marine animals.

Cancellation: 24 hours in advance.

What You Will Do

  • Experience a tour led by naturalist guides who work with the animals at the aquarium
  • Walk down the catwalk over the aquarium's near-shore and offshore tunnel exhibits
  • View areas not on exhibit, like the baby jellies nursery, the skate grow-out and holding space, and other behind-the-scenes animal care work areas
  • Each participant receives a bucket of seafood to feed the sharks, rays, skates, and other fishes in the aquarium's 350,000 gallon offshore tunnel exhibit
  • Learn about aquatic biology and test the pH and oxygen levels of San Francisco Bay water in the aquarium's research lab

Additional Information

  • Price does not include general admission to the aquarium. Public parking facilities are available at Pier 35 or across from the main entrance at the PIER 39 garage; the garage is open 24/7. For public transportation, the historic F line stops right across from the aquarium entrance. Children must be 8+ to attend
