Wonderful tour - I had an amazing tour with Tadeo. A super friendly and welcoming guy! He had a lot to tell, and made me feel pretty safe. The part you walk to Tijuana can maybe feel a little overwhelming if you're not used to travelling in Latinamerica but the experience was pretty safe! Had some good food, nice tequila tasting and saw some souvenir stores! Another woman was doing a solo trip as well, so it was super private and felt very close/real just as if we were walking around with a friend showing us his hometown. Would recommend if you don't know where to go in Tijuana (or if you wanna go solo but feel a little unsure!)

Mom & Daughter day in Tijuana - A lot of people told me it was a very bad idea to go into Tijuana, especially with my teenage daughter. I am glad I didn’t listen to them because we had a great day with no problems. I am however very glad we did a tour, we would have been lost on our own, and definitely stood out as tourists. We had two guides for this trip. Tabitha met us on the US side, she called to confirm our reservations & took us across the pedestrian crossing. In Mexico, Tadeo met us, got a cab (van) to take us all to the city center and showed us all the sites: buildings, museum, cathedral, markets, etc. He was very knowledgeable and shared interesting information. We also had lunch (YUM) and a tequila tasting (I didn’t do that but others in our group enjoyed it). We had time at the end for souvenir shopping before Tadeo took us back to the line to cross into the US. Tijuana is like any big city, you should be aware of your surroundings and stay in certain areas, but it is a colorful fun place, and not the dangerous chaos the news might portray. I would definitely recommend going on a tour, and if you are lucky enough to get Tadeo as a guide I promise you’ll have a great experience!

I had a few hours to... - I had a few hours to spare during my trip to San Diego, and I decided to take advantage of its proximity to Tijuana and take a tour there! I took the trolley from downtown San Diego and Andres was waiting for me outside the McDonalds alongside one other tour member (so we had an intimate two-person tour!). He walked us through to the border area, and explained how the process would be. He met us on the other side once we went through passport control and then he took us to meet his colleauge Tabitha! She took over from the tour and we got on a public bus/taxi to get to downtown Tijuana. We had a great time taking photos, talking about the culture and life in Tijuana, trying Tequila, Cajeta, and delicious tacos! It was the right choice for me to get to experience Tijuana with someone who knows the area. We had some free time to do souvenir shopping, and then Tabitha took us back to the border via public bus/taxi and then we walked across back to the San Diego trolley. I would highly recommend this trip for solo travelers who want to explore Tijuana and get a small taste of Mexico!

Tijuana Walking Tour/Border Cross - Hello! I attended this tour on March 31, 2026 with Tabitha. I have wanted to walk across the border for years. I was finally able to mark it off my bucket list. I learned so much about Tijuana that I did not know, specifically that the Caesar salad was invented in Tijuana by an Italian man. The restaurant is still there which includes a hotel. The people of Tijuana were friendly and kind. There were several vendors and a beautiful church in the center of town. I plan to return to Tijuana again in the future. Thank you so much for the tour!!!

Safe and informative way to get to know Tijuana - Tadeo was a great tour guide, giving clear information and details of the landmarks and timeline. Our group was a good size of 5. I just wish we didn't stop for 35 minutes near an area where there were 5 shops of whom the staff all spoke good English. I felt pressured to buy, and just stopped in 1 store. I just wandered around on my own to let the rest of time pass.

Do NOT book! - If I could rate it a zero, I would. Got there an hour early and walked around. Went to the meet up spot 30 min before as instructed and no one was there. Messaged the guide 15 minutes before to ask who we should be looking for and got no response. Subsequently, I messaged through the Viator app, I texted the number they provided in their message, I messaged on WhatsApp, and no response on any of the 3 platforms. I called on all 3 as well and couldn’t get a hold of anyone. Called Viator and they couldn’t get a hold of the guide(s) or tour company either. Poor communication and planning. Would not recommend. Don’t waste your time or money.
