Loved the canyon and the experience - Even though I don't know Spanish and took the tour 'Sumidero Canyon, Miradores del Cañón and Pueblo Chiapa de Corzo' in Spanish, we loved it. Canyon was great. The driver came a bit late and communication with the office was less frequent than I expected, in the end , everything went well. The driver picked up as around 09:30-45 (we were the last one ) from Airbnb and left in the center around 17:30-18:00. Driver wasn't speaking English but somehow it was fine. Guide in the boat tour was speaking Spanish as well and I wish I knew Spanish as other Spanish speaking travellers seemed enjoying it. We loved it.

Amazing tour!! Must visit! - I took the Sumidero Canyon tour from San Cristóbal de las Casas, and it was unforgettable! We traveled in a comfortable Mercedes van. Though the driver only spoke Spanish, fellow travelers cheerfully translated, and we all had a blast—like a party bus! The canyon itself was awe-inspiring, making me reflect on the vastness of time. After the boat ride, we had a meal (not included) at a place with great food and service—especially if you know some Spanish. Plus, they kindly dropped me off at a different location on the way back. Great value, great experience—I’m fully satisfied!

Highly recommended! 10/10 - a super nice and comfortable experience, the cannon is magical and the agency and driver were very friendly. The trip takes you to the viewpoints, then canyon tour that lasts 2hrs and leaves you in Chiapa de Corzo, which is very beautiful!

Amazing views but no English speaking guides - The canyon and the river was absolutely beautiful! We saw crocs, butterflies and exotic birds. You guys should really have an English speaker working with you. On our boat it was 50/50 and us non-Spanish didn't have a clue what the boat driver was saying when he talked about the scenery and animals

Boat ride was great - Tour was basically a shuttle service for us. Our Spanish is rudimentary, and the guide ignored us and did not try to make himself understood. Other Spanish guests on the tour helped explain instructions. We were driven to the top of the canyon to look, then dropped at the boat launch. The boat ride was great. After the boat ride, even the Spanish tourists needed to text the guide to clarify pickup time and location. This is also the only time I have done a tour and not been returned to my pickup location. Instead we were all dumped off at the town centre. We were not impressed.

Long waits - The canyon was beautiful and I would definitely go. I'd look for another operator though. We ran very late because some people didn't follow instructions. Other tours moved quicker and saw more things. Our tour moved very slow. We had to wait an hour and a half in this really touristy town where I think everybody got ripped off. The boat stopped and asked everybody for tips then boarded. It put a bad taste in my mouth.

Avoid problems, never book with this company! - I strongly advise everyone not to book with this company. My experience with them was extremely disappointing and frustrating. Due to a late departure, the boat tour did not take place. Of course, delays can happen — I understand that. However, what is unacceptable is how the company handled the situation. They took absolutely no responsibility and offered a refund of only €5 out of the €35 we paid, which is simply ridiculous. On top of that, the operator made no effort whatsoever to communicate or discuss the issue. There was no attempt to find a solution, no proper explanation, and no sense of customer care. It felt like they simply did not care about their customers at all. This is a very unprofessional and unreliable company that does not stand by its services or take responsibility when things go wrong. I truly regret booking with them. There are plenty of other options available, and afterwards I heard much better experiences about other providers. Don’t make the same mistake I did — avoid this company.

Disastrous Canyon Tour: Late Pickup, Stopped by Police, Closed Canyon & €5 “Compensation” - Despite bad weather forecast, the agency still chose to go ahead with the tour. We were required to be there at a specific time in order to sail, so we left earlier than planned. Ironically, the agency arrived 25 minutes late to pick us up. After reaching the canyon, we had to wait until the boat was completely full before departing. Shortly after we finally set off, the police stopped us and informed us that the canyon was closed. At first, the agency offered to take us back to the canyon the next day, which seems a fair solution. However, when we wanted to accept this option, they suddenly changed their minds and refused to drive back with part of the group. Instead, they offered us only €5 in compensation—absolutely ridiculous. My advice: choose a more reliable agency.

Very disappointing . I bought the trip with Viatours but can not see how to contact customer services. - I am very disappointed about this as I was not collected at the agreed time so sadly missed out on the tour. The agency failed to inform me that there had been a change of departure time. All the documents I had stated clearly 9 am. I have tried to deal with the agency but basically it appears I have paid 40 dollars and got nothing for my money. Unable to see how to try re claim my money.
