One of the kind tour - A very nice tour and our guide Carlos was sharp at scouting animals, and helped us took great photos. It was amazing that those creatures just appeared so close to us.

Book this for sure ! - Carlos was amazing. The hike took about 2 hours. We saw everything from a sloth, snakes, caimans, lizards, tons of tree frogs and poison dart frogs, walked a butterfly garden as well which was a nice bonus and super informative. We also do different insects and tons of beautiful flora and greenery. We booked the 6:30 hike and it was perfect. I learned so much about Costa Rica and its wild life and history. Our group had 5 people total including our guide. We went slow and had time to take photos when we found critters. Highly recommend , it’s a beautiful nature reserve

This was an excellent... - This was an excellent experience! Our tour guide Jo was so patient, knowledgeable, and kind. We had our three young (noisy, excitable, hyperactive) children with us but Jo was so patient with them. We saw all kinds of frogs, insects, caimans, a snake, and even a sloth - way up close! We truthfully just booked this so we would have something fun to do on our arrival day, but I’m so glad we did it. My kids even said that the whole long day of travel was completely worth it because of the sloth :)

Enriching tour with guide - We visited the Ecozentrum Danaus spontaneously and were warmly welcomed. We have been told a lot about the project and its origins, without further ado we took a guide. In retrospect, just the right decision, because that's how we all saw animals: Sloths, poisonous frogs and countless birds. Without a guide we would have missed most of it; the contribution of $25 more is more than fair for 1.5 hours (compared to other prices in CR) and benefits the project. Clear recommendation!

Butterflies, lizards, frogs, and snakes, oh my! - Fabulous NIGHT nature hike discovering tons of wildlife in the forest all around is. Two hour tour with our knowledgeable guide Paz turned even the adults who were skeptical of seeing anything into pros at spotting green and red toed tree frogs and lizards, and picking out the red eyes of cayman in the pond! We saw snakes, sleeping birds, at least five different kinds of frogs, including the green tree frog, the blue Jean frog, the red toed frog, nesting heron, and multiple reptiles! Flashlights provided, and our guide had a telescope. It allowed everybody to see everything up close and clearly. He also helped us get pictures of the things that we saw on our smart bones from the telescope. Our ages were 35 to 71, but this would've been perfect for children also as there was constantly something to be seen. Plus a bonus was going into the butterfly house and seeing the various stages of caterpillars and chrysalis, and then being able to step outside and see all the sleeping butterflies on the branches.
This is an outstanding tour that doesn't require anything but a curiosity to learn.

When it rains, it rains - This is an interactive experience, with everyone looking for frogs, butterflies and lizards. If I did it again I would take my own binoculars as everyone trying to use the guides, can be difficult. Our guide was great and very cheerful, even when the heavens opened, he was sure the rain would stop. Sadly It didn’t and it’s very hard to see anything in a rain storm so out tour was cut short however the ticket does include a free return during the day on a self guided basis.

Short-term rebooking in case of insufficient information - We had booked a tour for 20:00 online. This was also confirmed to us in writing. When we got to 18: We wanted to leave at 30 o'clock we saw by chance that apparently without our knowledge we were rebooked to 5:30 o'clock. The new time was only communicated to us immediately beforehand via WhatsApp. Although the tour was also repeated at 20:00, we were consistently denied entry. I can therefore only recommend more reliable alternatives. Even if the price was refunded in full at the end, only a refund of 50% should be made. This does not replace the experience, however, especially since our daughter had her birthday that day and we cannot make up for the experience due to the distance and travel planning. So if you are planning a visit, consider reliability.
