Taking the zoo while you’re in San Antonio. - If you like to visit the zoos in various cities, then you’ll love this one. They had a special which was amazing. You can get into the zoo and they buy you lunch for less than 20 bucks. We enjoyed seeing the giraffes we fed the giraffes they had a lionthat was beautiful. We saw various birds in the boa snakes and we even had the ability to pet the kangaroos. It’s another hop off on the trolley at the Witten museum and an easy walk. Make sure you bring bottles of water that you can refill. Water refill stations are throughout the zoo. Make sure you drink your water as it’s hot. You may also wanna wear hats as the sun is very strong.

Fantastic City Zoo - Great Zoo. Excellent facilities. We had a very nice family experience. Short drive from downtown San Antonio. For kids is fantastic and you are going to enjoy it. Many refreshments areas with restrooms and all you need.

Best Zoo! - This is by far the best zoo I have been to! Beautiful and well kept. Lots of amazing experiences and fun for all ages. The staff are truly passionate about the animals they care for and are very knowledgable and willing to answer questions. I wish I could shoutout the amazing staff in the giraffe feeding area and the butterfly garden! They were patient and wonderful with our group. My daughter and I went to SeaWorld the day before with our group and this was a much more enjoyable experience. They do not force anything on the animals and their love for them is truly seen. I would return to San Antonio again for this experience alone. Highly recommend!

Amazing - Our visit to the San Antonio Zoo was absolutely wonderful! The zoo is beautifully maintained and offers a great mix of fun and education for all ages. The animal exhibits are thoughtfully designed, allowing you to get close views while still respecting the animals’ space and natural behaviors. We especially loved the giraffe feeding experience and the butterfly garden — truly magical! The zoo staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to answer questions, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The variety of species they care for is impressive, and it's clear they prioritize animal welfare and conservation. The grounds are easy to navigate, with plenty of shaded areas, clean restrooms, and spots to sit and take a break. The train ride around the zoo is a must for kids (and grownups too!). If you're visiting San Antonio or live nearby, this zoo is definitely worth a trip. It’s a perfect day outing for families, couples, or anyone who enjoys nature and wildlife.

terrible customer service and ticket buying experience - We checked online and they offered pay for a day and have access for a year, went to the Zoo and was told at the front gate that tickets have to be purchased online, stood in the hot sun and purchased for tickets at $39 each expecting to have access for a year as advertised only to check email the next day a see it was only for that day, called Zoo customer service and was told by a nice representative that they would send us an email with the access for a year later that day, and now after a week still no email, also have emailed the Zoo and no response, the ticket purchasing experience is the worst, and website should mention tickets have to be purchased online.
