Unforgettable experience - It was an amazing session with the lady. Lots of patience while carving with ease and grace. Can't recall the Master's name. She also prepared a dessert made of banana and sticky rice, it was so warm that I will never forget the flavour. I am currently staying in Portugal and would be interested in inviting the Master to conduct the workshop here, in Lisbon. The Master mentioned that she used to have workshops around Europe. Unfortunately, I can't find her phone number. Could you please contact me at +85363001958. Thank you for the amazing workshop!

Enjoyable carving - Wan is a very experienced carver. It’s a shame we only signed up to a half day class as I would have liked to learn more but I had a good experience

Master Carrver great experience - Wan is a master carver..when in class in person she knows your next move in carving a piece and is right there to assist. A wonderful.learming experience. Plus they offer classes on video so you can continue learning and getting guided instruced practice.

You need to take this class if you love food - This class will set up apart from other chefs. All the tools and information you need to make exquisite decorations from vegetables (tomato, cucumber, radishes, pumpkin, etc) and fruit you will learn. The teacher is so patient and creative. She never stopped creating new designs and never got tired of me constantly needing a lot of instruction. Even if you are a home cook this is a great fun way to spend the afternoon and learn a skill. If you are a professional chef this knowledge will set you apart from other chefs. A knife and lunch is included.

A great way to learn food-presentational skills - I did the full day fruit carving class. We mainly focused on forming flower-, petal- and leaf shapes from tomatoes, carrots, radishes, cucumbers, and pumpkins. I think this would be a great course for food professionals like caterers and chefs, and anyone looking to up his or her presentational skills. Be warned: fruit and vegetable carving is a LOT harder than it looks, and you'll be grateful for Khun Wan's guidance.

Real experience of learning Thai traditional carving - First I would like to thank again to Wan for her patience to teach me. 3 days' basic course was so intense. I learned so much about Thai traditional carving and it is just a beginning. I felt the depth of this culture. Wan is an amazing teacher and artist. I am very pleased to have met Wan and have seen Wan's knife techniques. Elegant and very high artistic skill.

Very much a hands on experience - Wan is a very patient teacher and over the full day course we achieved a lot more than I had expected to do with no experience - watching her work is amazing but she can also give you the skills in one day to make beautiful pieces for decorating home dishes or preparing meals for others in a home situation even if you are a home cook . Wan and her husband Larry invited me into their rooftop home and provided a delicious lunch for the break. This was one of the most hands on food activities I have done.

Fantastic experience! - On one day notice and for personal enrichment - I took the full day class with Siam master carver Wan and had a wonderful experience! Wan is kind, professional and and excellent teacher. I learned a great deal and left inspired to practice and continue to improve. Larry, the Director of the Academy, was an excellent resource for details about Bangkok, directions, lodging, and so very encouraging about taking the class. The lunch provided was delicious and large! The classroom is very comfortable and provides a fantastic view of the city as well. I was able to reserve a space in their rentable studio room for 2 nights which provided the utmost convenience for me. My favorite memory of my travels to Bangkok is Siam Carving Academy and learning a new skill! Joan S., USA

Wan was very nice and... - Wan was very nice and patient instructor. My problem was that I sent the operator a note that I was waiting where I was told to wait and no one came or responded to my message to the operator. I did a chat with Viator and the operator didn’t answer the phone. I was ready to go back to the hotel but the chat gentleman said that they finally responded. But they refused to meet me and I had no name or address. I received a text where to go AFTER Wan finally came. After I left, I got a nasty message from the operator asking why people don’t know where to go when they book the class. Really? Make it clear where you are. I can honestly say I would not have found it if Wan hadn’t come. Cannot recommend.
