- Dorus-Saodat Mausoleum - This expansive complex served as the burial site for the ruling family and included a prayer hall, a mosque, and accommodations for the religious community and pilgrims. The main facade was adorned with white marble, and Temur’s tomb is a masterpiece of the art from this era. The Dorus Saodat Complex dates back to the same period as Ak-Saray, with construction starting in 1379.
- Dorut Tilovat - Part of the remnants of Temur’s memorial ensemble of burial and religious structures. The buildings were primarily constructed during Ulugbek’s reign. This complex houses the graves of Temur’s father, Taragay, and his spiritual mentor, Sheikh Shamsaddin Kulyal.
- Kok Gumbaz Mosque - Built in 1435 during Ulugbek’s reign, it stands opposite Kulyal’s mausoleum on the same axis. It is a large Friday mosque used for public prayers. The name Kok Gumbaz translates to “blue dome.”
- The Palace Complex of Ak-Saray - Timur’s chronicler, Sherif Eddin Ali Yezdi, noted that the world had never seen a building like it, reaching from the earth to the heavens. The palace was founded at astrologically predicted times, with construction beginning in 1380 after Temur’s conquest of Konye Urgench in Khorezm.
- Samarkand - Return to Samarkand and enjoy a stop at one of the many tea houses for mountain herb tea.
