High speed - Afrosiyob railway station is one of the main transportation way in connecting many cities in Uzbekistan. We booked our tour from Tashkent to Samarkand by High speed train Afrosiyab. It covers the distance 309km in 2 hours and 25 minutes. Great service, high speed, very clean, prompt in time and amazing experience.

Lack of Wi-Fi spoils the impression - Comfortable boarding via e-ticket, no ID checks. They deliver drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. There's a toilet. The huge downside is free WiFi for 30 minutes a day. Mobile Internet on the move hardly catches.

Booking the high speed train from Samarkand to Tashkent. - The evening train journey from Samarkand to Tashkent was good. In Bussiness Class the seating was comfortable with plenty of leg room and storage space for luggage. Obtaining the tickets was an issue, you need to contact GOTOUZBEKISTAN (the agent who delivers the tickets to your hotel) with your passport details and those travelling with you, as I found this was not possible when making the booking with Tripadvisor. Tickets are delivered to your hotel one to three days, before your train journey, which I found a bit concerning and involved me texting and phoning the agent to chase up the tickets. I have no complaints about Ibreham at GOTOUZBEKISTAN, who acted well, but clearer information from time of booking could be better.

Train tickets for good trip - Great train with wonderful lunch incluided. Only negative part is that you have to wait until morning of your trip to collect tickets ,and while we have been not prepared for it ,it was annoying. And Uzbek company works very slow to lower stress occured. Overall , I will repeat same .

NICE EXPERIENCE - The train looks beautiful, I travelled and avail this train from Tashkent to Bukhara then Samarkand to Tashkent, comfortable train with good speed, it was comfortable train and provided with small snacks and water bottle, I reach Tashkent to Bukhara 630 Kms in 4.5 hrs but feel less comfortable with Air-condition, over all it was good memorable journey.

I have bought a ticket through the site but qhen i went ti the train station i didn't find reserved seats. - Eventhough the reservation is confirmed There were no reservation found. So, i had to buy a new ticket.

Beware; too much hassle - At midnight 6 hours before the train, I had to call, use WhatsApp, and Gmail as well to contact the ticket vendor. They had not provided the ticket after the credit card made payment, or the day before travel, or even within 12 hours of the train departure. Only when pressed, they got the ticket to me as “guaranteed” and also sent a taxi to take me to Tashkent train station; I did not even know which train station we were leaving from. By 3pm, I was contacting the ticket vendor because I had not seen the ticket and the train ride back was at 4:40. The vendor gave many excuses and said the 440 train was delayed until five. Then when I followed up again, he asked whether I would I take the 540 train because the UNESCO convention was here. His story kept changing. I said I’d prefer the 440 original schedule. Next he said am I OK with the 540 and I said no. He said only the 540 is available also I demanded a discount. He ultimately sent me the 540 and said it was “business class." When I asked what that means and whether I get food, he said you get everything. In fact, other than the VIP sign on the door. There was nothing else no amenities, food, or drinks that came with the “business class.“ Customer members need to be aware of this ticket vendor. It should not take this many emails, text, calls, WhatsApp messages for ticket they would end up producing anyway.
