This is two separate... - This is two separate tours which means you may definitely have some overlap when traveling between destinations. Knowing that, I love the experience. Birgit was an amazing guide for the SOM tour. She was very knowledgeable and made the trip so much fun! Mirko was our tour guide for Halstatt and everything ran smoothly so that we had more than enough time in Halstatt as well as some sights along the way. Both Mondsee and Halstatt had a beautiful lake. Halstatt was definitely best in the morning when crowds are low.

This is a combination of... - This is a combination of two separate 1/2 day tours offered by Panorama Tours - a vist to Hallstatt in the morning, returning to Salzburg around 1:30pm, then a 2pm Sound of Music tour at 2pml The morning portion was scenic and a lot of driving. The afternoon portion was on a bigger tour bus to visit a few spots that appeared in the movie. Both tours were fun, with the afternoon one being more cheerful.

Great sightseeing in Salzburg and the Austrian alps - I’ll first say that, while I like the sound of music well enough, seeing the locations it was filmed was night my purpose for booking this experience. I really just wanted to see the alpine lake towns. With that in mind, I was a bit disappointed to learn after getting on the tour bus that I could have booked a lake tour without the sound of music portion. In fact, the way this tour is set up, you take the lake tour first, then return to Salzburg and get on a separate bus with separate guides to do the sound of music tour. Having already paid for both tours, I got on the bus anyway. All that said, both tours and their guides (shoutout to Sino and Leo) were great. The alpine lakes were every bit as beautiful as I’d hoped, and the sound of music portion was entertaining with singing and behind the scenes details (i can see how huge fans of the musical would love every second of it). The only downside was, as I traveled in winter, the sun went down before we’d gone to all our stops. Although, while the alpine views were gone, the Christmas lights were enchanting. Overall, this tour was well put together and worth the price. I just wish I had known the sound of music portion was a separate experience.

Hallstatt is a beautiful Town - We had a great experience going to Hallstatt, it is such a beautiful part of the world. The scenery along the way is just gorgeous and the bus trip was fun with good commentary of the area. The town is so picturesque and stunning, you won't regret going there. We unfortunately could not make the sound of music part of the tour due to unforeseen circumstances, therefore I can't comment on that part of the tour.

Hallstatt was incredible... - Hallstatt was incredible . The Sound of Music had an amazing guide who sang and extremely detailed. However , these are 2 separate tours with a quick 15 minute break and a lot of driving back and forth on the same routes. Wasted 2 hours that could be used for lunch or meal break .

Too much time on the Coach! - The trip takes you all the way back to Salzburg to then drive half way back to Hallstatt to start the Sound Music tour. Way too much time in a coach, they need to make this a single journey! Separately great trips bit together not well arranged.
