• Salento - We take our breakfast before we set off
• Boquia - we set off to Boquia Hamlet at 1.790 m.a.s.l. The hike starts heading to the bridge “La Explanación” where the Boquia creek passes. We will walk along the forest that belongs to a nature reserve of the civil society, full of butterflies, dragonflies, beetles, flowers and birds. The main activity we will do is the birding and hiking.
• Boquia - At the end we will visit the Quindío River, a very important river for all of us. Here we will have our fruits picnic and then return back to Salento.

This is a simple hike to explore a nature reserve near Salento. The journey includes a visit to the historic “La Explanación” bridge. As you hike through nature, you’ll discover various bird species on the way to Quindio. The tour will guide you on identifying different bird species and using birding tools such as the eBird and Merlin apps to record your observations and enhance your understanding.
