The journey continues along the path skirting the Mafate rampart, offering exceptional views of the cirque and revealing the natural beauty of Reunion’s high plateaus. The descent leads to “La Glacière,” a site that bears witness to the island’s somber history during the era of slavery and maroonage.
  This activity is available during the rainy season as an alternative to our “Authentic immersion in Mafate” hike.
