The guide will lead a two-hour tour tracing the events that unfolded on Omaha Beach, specifically in the Easy Red and Fox Green sectors, and past Wn 62, a pivotal point of the Atlantic Wall. Through the perspectives and personal accounts of both German and American soldiers, participants will gain insight into the experiences of these men on June 6, 1944. As the tour progresses through the German trenches and fortifications, the guide will explain the German soldiers’ responses to the Allied landings and their influence on the initial hours of D-Day at this site, now famously referred to as “Bloody Omaha.”
Following the beach tour, the guide will escort participants to the Colleville-sur-Mer American Cemetery to explore this significant memorial site, which is symbolic of the D-Day beaches and serves as the final resting place for over 9,300 men and women.
