Nicole will explore the diverse applications of rum in appetizers, main courses, and desserts, followed by a sumptuous three-course meal that showcases the recipes covered in the workshop.\n\nThe origins of rum can be traced back to the Caribbean in the 17th century. In this culinary workshop, you’ll gain knowledge from a native about the historical significance and impact of rum on Caribbean society, culture, and gastronomy… and you’ll also have the opportunity to sample a selection of 6 distinctive rums from the region!

The narrative of rum began in the Caribbean in around the 17th century. The session on Cooking with Rum delves into the revolutionary role and history of rum in Caribbean society and its culinary practices.

A variety of rums will be available for tasting and adding a unique touch to the dishes. Being in Antigua, our journey begins with the island’s prizewinning 5-year old English Harbor rum, proceeding after to three other exquisite brands from nations like Barbados, Guatemala, Cuba, Jamaica, and Martinique.

The cuisine served will exhibit to our attendees how different rums can enhance the taste of dishes, no matter if it’s a conventional dark rum or a refined white.
