The day began with a gentle breeze and the promise of adventure. I was picked up from the Sandals resort in a comfortable air-conditioned van, joined by a couple and another traveler from a nearby resort. Our guide, Alvin, was a fountain of knowledge and enthusiasm, setting the tone for what would be an unforgettable day. We started our exploration in the vibrant St. George’s area, where Alvin shared fascinating insights into Grenadian culture. The streets were alive with color and history, and I felt a deep connection to the island’s spirit.

Our first major stop was the famous Grand Anse Beach. The soft white sand and crystal-clear waters were a sight to behold. I couldn’t resist taking a quick dip, feeling the ocean’s embrace that I know so well. The nearby Spice Market was a sensory delight, with Alvin guiding us to the best deals. The House of Chocolate was a sweet surprise. The rich scent of cocoa enveloped us as we learned about Grenada’s unique chocolate-making process. I indulged in free samples and couldn’t resist buying chocolates infused with local flavors like nutmeg and guava. It was a chocolate lover’s paradise.

Our next stop was the Grand Etang rainforest, a lush haven teeming with life. Although the elusive Mona Monkeys were hiding due to the previous day’s rain, Alvin introduced us to a toddler monkey, who quickly became the star of the tour. The Annandale Falls were a refreshing retreat. I took Alvin’s advice and donned my swimsuit for a swim in the invigorating waters. The falls were surrounded by lush greenery, and the experience was both exhilarating and calming. I felt a renewed sense of energy as I dried off and prepared for the next leg of our journey.

Although the Clarke’s Court Rum Distillery tour wasn’t a full production tour, the tasting experience was delightful. The bartender’s stories of rum-making history added depth to each sip, and I savored the opportunity to try five different rums, each with its own unique character.

Our final stop was a local lunch at Andy’s, where the flavors of Grenada came alive. The curry lamb and chicken roti were delicious, and the pressed juices of mango and golden apple were the perfect complement. The day concluded at the West Indies Brewery, where I enjoyed a refreshing craft beer, reflecting on the day’s adventures.
