Safaga Port to Luxor
Port Safaga - Guests will be collected from Safaga Port at the cruise exit door. They will be transported in a private, air-conditioned vehicle to Luxor, a journey of approximately 3 hours.
Karnak Open Air Museum - Upon arrival, visitors will explore the Karnak temples, which house 22 temples. Among the remarkable structures at Karnak is the great hypostyle hall, featuring 134 columns. The Karnak Temple Complex, also known as the Karnak Open Air Museum, is a vast collection of decayed temples, chapels, pylons, and other buildings near Luxor, Egypt. Construction began during the reign of Senusret I in the Middle Kingdom and continued into the Ptolemaic period, with most existing structures dating from the New Kingdom.
Luxor Temple - The tour continues to Luxor Temple, a testament to all religions in Egypt, including Pharaonic, Christianity, and Islam. The two temples are linked by the impressive Sphinx Avenue, stretching over 3 km. This large Ancient Egyptian temple complex is located on the east bank of the Nile River in the city now known as Luxor (ancient Thebes) and was built around 1400 BCE. In the Egyptian language, it is called ipet resyt, “the southern sanctuary.” Luxor boasts several magnificent temples on both the east and west banks.
Luxor - Guests will then be transferred to their hotel in Luxor.
West Bank and Return to Safaga Port
Valley of the Kings - After breakfast at the hotel, guests will be picked up to cross the Nile and visit the West Bank, where they will explore the Valley of the Kings. This site contains over 62 tombs of the New Kingdom’s kings from 1550 BC, and visitors will tour 3 tombs. The Valley of the Kings is a historic valley in Egypt where, for nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, rock-cut tombs were created for the pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom (the Eighteenth to the Twentieth Dynasties of Ancient Egypt). The valley is located on the west bank of the Nile, opposite Thebes (modern Luxor), within the heart of the Theban Necropolis. It consists of two valleys, East Valley (where most royal tombs are found) and West Valley.
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Guests will visit the Hatshepsut Temple, which features a modern design with 3 terraces. The Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, also known as Djeser-Djeseru, is an Ancient Egyptian mortuary temple located in Upper Egypt. Built for the Eighteenth Dynasty pharaoh Hatshepsut, it is situated beneath the cliffs at Deir el-Bahari on the west bank of the Nile near the Valley of the Kings. This mortuary temple is dedicated to Amun and Hatshepsut and is located next to the mortuary temple of Mentuhotep II, which served as both inspiration and later, a quarry. It is regarded as one of the “incomparable monuments of ancient Egypt.”
Colossi of Memnon - Guests will visit the Colossi of Memnon, two enormous statues of Amenhotep III, with the ruins of his temple visible behind them. The Colossi of Memnon (Arabic: el-Colossat or es-Salamat) are two gigantic stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who ruled Egypt during the Eighteenth Dynasty. Since 1350 BCE, they have stood in the Theban Necropolis, located west of the River Nile from the modern city of Luxor.
Port Safaga - Guests will be driven back to their cruise at Safaga Port.
