- Hoang Lien National Park - The tour begins with a transfer deeper into Hoang Lien National Park, reaching the trek’s starting point near Sin Chai village. This is where the adventure truly begins, “off the beaten track.” Revel in the stunning views of towering mountains, cascading waterfalls, and deep valleys. The trails will soon guide you to the Red Dao village of Nam Nhiu, where you will meet the villagers, visit their homes, and learn about their predominantly farming lifestyle. As you leave the village, a small dirt trail will reveal breathtaking views of the valley, dotted with bamboo huts used by local farmers as overnight lodges during the harvest season.
- Liên Minh - After traversing the rice terraces and crossing a river, you will walk along a peaceful road before reaching the delightful Nam Cang village, where lunch will be served.
Nam Cang village is situated at the far end of Sapa valley, and the Red Dao women are known for wearing some of the most vibrant and diverse costumes among Vietnam’s ethnic groups. They are also renowned for their herbal baths, local medicine, and embroidery. With your guide, you will explore the village and discover how the locals create writing paper from rice, craft silver jewelry, and produce colorful embroidery. You might also enjoy a swim in the river before meeting your vehicle for the return journey.
Approx: grade moderate 7.1 km hiking/ 3 - 3.5 hours; 2 hours driving; 1 hour for lunch.
