Book this half day tour! - Hands down the best experience we booked during our two week travels in Vietnam. Preparing a meal after a morning hike was so much fun.

Authentic Sapa experience - We took Khu on a 10 km trekking tour through Sapa’s hinterland – across forests, along dry rivers and over beautiful rice terraces. The absolute highlight: At noon we were invited to eat at Khu’s home – homemade and delicious. There was also homemade rice brandy (“Happy Water”), which lives up to its name 😄 Afterwards we were allowed to try on traditional Sapa clothing, such as those worn at weddings. Khu told us a lot about the culture of the Hmong – for example, that instead of a wedding ring, a heavy traditional necklace of French coins is worn, which is inherited within the family. You learn things here that are not in any guidebook. Khu is not only a great guide, but also a warm hostess who shares her culture with honest enthusiasm. Absolutely recommended for those who want to experience the real Sapa!

Thank you for a lovely tour - I had such a lovely time! The walk we did was beautiful and Thikhu provided me with lots of information and answers and help along the way. She is a terrific guide and a very sweet lady – she even showed me how to make spring rolls in her home. I feel very glad I chose her to show me around and can only recommend her with all my heart.

Amazing full day trek with delicious lunch - Ku is the best! - We had an absolutely amazing day with Ku! The route was really beautiful and Ku told us all about local traditions and cultures. We stopped for lunch at Ku's house and it was so delicious, one of the best meals we've had and such a good variety. Ku was so friendly and hospitable, we could not ask for anything better. It was such an amazing day and I highly recommend doing this full day trek.

Best trek in Sa Pa!!! - We booked this trek very spontaneously & it was the best thing that we did during our 3 weeks in Vietnam. The trek started by meeting Khu Du & Lala in central Sa Pa at 8am (tip: if it's wet and they offer the gum boots, get the gum boots, we took our tried and tested trail shoes but soon found they weren't quite up to it). Khu Du and Lala were so friendly and welcoming, we became friends very quickly. Once we left Sa Pa the trek started in a bamboo forest which led to the rice paddies. We were unlucky with the weather as it was rainy & foggy, this made some of the paths challenging. But Khu Du and Lala were there to help us every step of the way and didn't make us do anything we were uncomfortable with. Once we were passed the trickiest part of the trek the views were still hidden by the foggy weather but the experience of catching glimpses of the beautiful rice paddies whilst getting to know Khu Du and Lala more than made up for this. We laughed so much and learnt a lot about their lives/minority tribes lives, this was a really enriching experience. Along the way we tried sticky rice, dyed our hands with indigo, did lots of dancing and saw plenty of wildlife. We stopped off for a tasty lunch which fuelled us for the next half of the hike, before we knew it we'd arrived at Khu Dus house in Lao Cai. Where we had some tea and happy water which were both delicious. Khu Du let us try on some traditional items of clothing and even invited us to stay for dinner (which we very sadly had to decline as we didn't want to walk back to our homestay in the dark). During the walk back to our homestay the fog lifted and Khu Du took loads of great pictures of us with the landscape. All in all an amazing experience that we would highly recommend to everyone. This is the trek to book in Sa Pa!

Private Trekking Tour with Khu - We met Khu in the morning in Sapa in the city and walked with her towards various surrounding villages. Along the way she told us a lot about the region, herself and life as a local. She speaks excellent English (which she has acquired herself through conversations with tourists!), Vietnamese as well as the dialect of her village. After we hiked through beautiful views, over rice fields, streams, stick and stone, she invited us to her home (she asks if you want to eat in a restaurant or at her place and I strongly recommend choosing the latter). If you like, you can help with the preparation (plucking water spinach and turning spring rolls) and afterwards with an excellent and more than sumptuous lunch. In addition to local rice, there were various meats (chicken, pork even water buffalo) as well as beans and the said spring rolls and spinach. After dinner, you can buy local craftsmanship, or walk directly on the last part of the hike. After half an hour along the river, you will be taken back to Sapa by vehicle.

Highly recommended! - We did a one-day trekking tour in Sapa with our guide Khu and loved it. Khu is very warm, knows the area well and told us a lot about the local culture and life in the villages. The route was beautiful and varied and perfect for a day. We still cooked together at her place, which was one of the highlights of the tour. Thanks to their friendly nature and good organization we felt comfortable at all times. We can absolutely recommend a tour with Khu!

To do absolutely! - Unforgettable experience! Khu was a unique guide, who took us everywhere. It went rather fast when we had to pass the tourist highways which made the experience even more pleasant because we were almost alone in the rice fields. Moreover, Khu warned us at the beginning of the march that handicrafts vendors would be walking with us and that they would sell us things at the end of the march, saying that we did not have to buy something from them. Lunch at home was a magical moment. Finally Khu taught us a few words of his dialect which was very rewarding. I highly recommend this experience with Khu.
