Fansipan trek 1 day solo - The communication was excellent! I was arriving by sleeper bus that was a bit late and they did everything to make sure I was taken care of. My guide was amazing, told me about local plants, took photos, and let me enjoy the view. He was also a very capable mountain goat. :). Oh and the lunch provided…..insane proportions and delicious!!

A highly recommended tour - All in all a great experience. We booked the One Day tour. Very well organized by Mr Tinh who did the communication and planning. Our guide was very friendly and attentive. He is from Sa Pa and knows the area very well. We were lucky and had sunshine and great views most of the day!

Great staff and well paced trip - I enjoyed my trek a lot. This was my first mountain climbed and I had a great experience. Special thanks to the tour coordinator Mr Tinh, and my guide Mr Chay for keeping me safe on the trek. I had mentioned a few days prior to the trek that I just recovered from a flu and might be weaker on the day of the hike, and Mr Tinh requested Mr Chay take special care of me to make sure I was safe. As this was also my first time solo travelling, I requested to see some documents for insurance purposes as I wanted to play it safe, which Mr Tinh provided quickly.
On the day of the hike, I had put on too many layers and had to keep stopping to remove them, and for exhaustion. Mr Chay was patient and waited with me. My bag was also quite heavy, so Mr Chay helped to carry the 1.5L water that was provided.
Mr Chay and 2 other guides cooked lunch for myself and 3 other travellers, a nice hot bowl of instant noodles with chicken. This was much needed, as it gets really cold when you stop moving.
We made it to the top a little behind schedule, and I had to take the cable car down instead as at that point I was already exhausted. We finished the hike at around 3-4pm and Mr Tinh met us again to drive me back to my hostel. Overall, a great experience doing this trek, I managed to cross something off my bucket list.
If you are planning on doing this hike from ascent to descent, do not pack too many layers as they will just be a hindrance on the trail and add to the weight in your bag. It is possible for beginners to finish the whole trail in one day, but it may get dark on the way down, and descent is a little harder than ascent, so I opted not to do so. Cable car tickets can be purchased at the top for about 850 000 dong, so you can decide on the day of the hike once you've reached the peak whether or not you want to hike back down.
Overall, I am happy Fansipan was my first mountain climbed, and I am happy to have done it with Sapa Original Trek.

Best day 2026 - At 6.00 am we started towards Fansipan. A leisurely hike was stated in the description. Well dressed and prepared for everything we started with our guide and 3 other adventurers to the summit. The pace was hard, and after the first hour we found ourselves climbing on all fours on huge rocks. Over ladders, field walls it went up more and more steeply. We are on our feet a lot, definitely not unsportsmanlike but we reached our limits.
The break at half-time we had sorely needed. We were provided with instantnoodle soup and frisky fruit.
After the break, we stepped up at our pace and that was much more relaxed. At over 40, we are just a little more comfortable than our 20-year-old colleagues. Anyway, 7 1/2 hours later we proudly reached the summit and later decided to go down in the Cabelcar while the boys met us again during the ascent. Did they even enjoy this phenomenal view? Was this a marathon we didn't know about? Anyway, we made it, received a medal and certificate and say thank you to the guide for the support, the nice conversation and for the perfect day. By the way, it was exactly my 44. Birthday.

Great communication and support from the Agent - Thanks for the patience and consistent communications that provided me with clear info, I was able to make my trek up to Fansipan despite having only a short 2 days into Sapa in between my biz trip.

Beautiful but VERY difficult day hike - Our guide Chay was very punctual and patient with us while trying to make sure we kept a decent pace. The food for lunch was good and there was plenty of it. The trail is well maintained and safe. The views from the top and the temple itself are amazing!
It’s mentioned in the description and I’ll reiterate in the title, but this is a VERY difficult hike endurance-wise. I like to think I’ve done a lot of hiking and this was still the hardest day hike I’ve ever done. If you are not an elite hiker and you have the time and still want to hike it, maybe consider the two day version. Taking the cable car down instead of hiking would be a great option too but it was closed while we were there unfortunately.

Highly Recommend SAPA Original Trek - I recently joined a 2-day program with Sapa Original Trek — the Fansipan one-day trek and the long walking tour through Sapa’s rice terraces and ethnic villages — and it was absolutely fantastic.
Tinh, who was incredibly responsive from the moment I contacted her, answered all my questions quickly, clearly, and with great patience. She really went the extra mile to create a special itinerary that matched exactly what I expected.
On the ground, our guide Cho was exceptional. He knows so many trekking routes in Sapa and guided me safely and confidently to the Fansipan summit on a very challenging trek. His pacing, encouragement, and deep knowledge of the trail made a difficult climb both achievable and enjoyable.
The next day, Cho also led me through the most beautiful parts of Muong Hoa Valley, walking from village to village across stunning rice terrace fields. He explained the cultures of the Hmong, Red Dzao, and Giay people in a friendly, authentic way. It truly felt like exploring the real Sapa, not a tourist route.
Both days were well-organized, scenic, and unforgettable.
Highly recommend it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Amazing experience - Mr Tinh was amazing! He was very friendly and hospitable. He picked us up from the hotel, offered us a room to freshen up before taking our overnight bus back to Hanoi, he even dropped us off at the bus station. The guide Mr Choo was so kind and friendly. He checked in with us from time to time throughout the hike! We had a great experience! Thank you Mr Tinh and Choo.
