Pick Up and Transfer to Akagera National Park

Akagera National Park - Following breakfast, the driver-guide will pick you up from the airport or your hotel/residence in Kigali. You will then embark on a pleasant 2-hour and 30-minute drive to the Eastern province. Upon arrival at the park reception, you will register and proceed to check in at your reserved hotel. Lunch will be served, and afterward, the driver-guide will take you on an afternoon game drive. Following the game drive, you will prepare for a boat trip on Lake Ihema to observe aquatic wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds including Cormorants, African fish eagles, kingfishers, and African darters. After an enjoyable 1 hour and 30 minutes on the boat, the driver-guide will return you to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Ruzizi Tented Lodge.

Full-Day Game Drive in Akagera National Park

Akagera National Park - In the morning, after breakfast at your lodge, and with a packed lunch, a Lion Safaris driver-guide will pick you up for a full-day game drive. This drive will take you from the south to the north of the park, where the open and flat plains of Kilala and Muhana await. Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the designated spots while observing the wildlife. After the game drive, the driver-guide will accompany you to the park exit. You will then return to Kigali, where you will be dropped off at your hotel/residence or the airport for your flight home.
