- Runaway Bay - This tour guides you through one of the most beloved towns on the island. Runaway Bay is naturally stunning and is undoubtedly one of the most picturesque areas in Jamaica. It is nestled between the pristine coastline on one side and the lush green mountains on the other. There is much discussion about how Runaway Bay got its name. Some believe it was named after the last group of Spanish soldiers fled from there during their retreat from the British troops led by Governor Ysassi following the 1655 British invasion of Jamaica. Others argue it was the escape route for slaves from inland plantations to Cuba. Be sure to have your cameras ready as you explore this area.
- Columbus Park - Located in the town of Discovery Bay, Columbus Park was originally named Puerto Seco, or “Dry Harbour,” by Christopher Columbus in 1494 when he and his crew landed on the island. It is said they couldn’t find fresh water to drink initially. They later discovered fresh water about 5 miles west of the town, which was so refreshing they named the location Rio Bueno, meaning “Good River.” However, in 1947, Puerto Seco was renamed Discovery Bay because it was where the Spanish, led by Columbus, landed during their invasion on May 4, 1494. The park features several old relics and artifacts on display. There will be a brief stop to take photos and capture the rich history of this historic town.
- Greenwood Great House - The Greenwood Great House, a plantation home, was built in the early 18th century. Like most other Great Houses in Jamaica, it was constructed at a high elevation, a strategy used during the plantation era for overseeing the plantation and security purposes. Unlike the Rose Hall Great House, this house is not haunted and offers a more peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The history and architecture of the house are truly captivating. Feel free to take photos as your tour guide slows down.
- Rose Hall Great House - The Rose Hall Great House is an early 18th-century plantation home situated on a high elevation on thousands of acres in Rose Hall, Montego Bay. It was once owned by the infamous Annie Palmer, one of the most notorious plantation owners in Jamaica, who owned hundreds of slaves. The house became haunted after her gruesome death in 1831. It is eerie even in daylight. Although there is no stop at the Rose Hall Great House on your way to Negril, your tour guide will share its history and slow down for photo opportunities.
- YS Falls - Discover the South Coast of Jamaica on this private, full-day tour. Travel through the countryside, across mountains, and through small farming villages where locals live off the land. The journey to the south coast takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. At YS Falls, a tractor jitney will take you on a 10-minute ride through the 2,600-acre property to the falls. The YS Falls property is home to horses, cattle, and massive guango and mango trees. At the falls, you can enjoy the natural pools, swing on Tarzan ropes, swim, and more. It’s the perfect choice for a romantic getaway or a break from the busy resort life. YS Falls features a stunning 7-tiered waterfall, a large wading pool, an exciting canopy ride high above the falls, and river tube rides, all offering spectacular views of the surrounding area. Total time at YS Falls is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- Black River - What a memorable day it has been so far! Now, you are at the Riverside Dock. After lunch, meet your Safari Tour Guide, hop into a safari boat, and float along the Black River. Along the way, watch for crocodiles, eagles, and more wildlife in their natural habitat. The Black River is home to various wildlife, including endemic bird species, crabs, rare or endemic plants like water lilies, North American crocodiles, and Tarpons. Get your cameras ready as your Safari Captain calls the crocodiles, feeds them chicken meat, and even pets them. No, your tour guide isn’t crazy; they have an excellent relationship with their safari friends and are eager to share their experience and expertise with you! You might even see local fishers snorkeling the river, collecting their crab traps, or spear fishing among the crocodiles and other wildlife. And no, they’re not crazy either! It’s just a way of life!
