The magnificent Green Grotto Caves, situated in Discovery Bay, Ocho Rios, Jamaica, rank among the island’s top attractions. The name originates from the distinctive green algae adorning the cave walls. Historical records indicate that the Taino Indians initially used the cave for shelter, as evidenced by the discovery of cave paintings and pottery fragments within. Runaway slaves found refuge here while evading their masters. During the British Invasion in 1665, the Spanish utilized the cave as a hideout, and it later served as a smuggling route for arms to Cuba, thanks to a tunnel leading to the beach. Towards the end of World War II, the Jamaican government used the cave entrance to store rum barrels.

• White River - White River Tubing

On the way to White River Tubing, visitors will have the opportunity to observe some local villages in Ocho Rios.

At the River Tubing site, amenities such as changing rooms, life jackets, restrooms, and a small snack shop are available.

The adventure begins as you plunge into a tube equipped with a bottom, embarking on an exhilarating journey through rushing rapids and crystal-clear pools of spring-fed water.

This experience unfolds under a stunning tropical canopy and lush greenery. There is a midway stop where you can take a thrilling 10 ft. jump into the water while the River Tubing staff captures the moment.

Alternatively, you can relax by the riverside with a refreshing Red Stripe beer or enjoy a rope swing over the river.

River Tubing lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on the time spent at the midway stop. Participants will tube for about 1 mile down the White River.
