• Markthal - This iconic city landmark, the Market Hall (Markthal), awaits your visit. The building’s sides house numerous apartments, and inside, you can savor a variety of international cuisines. Be sure to look up and admire one of the largest artworks in the world!
• City Hall Rotterdam - The tour proceeds to Rotterdam’s town hall, one of the city’s few pre-war structures, located on Coolsingel, Rotterdam’s own Champs-Élysées!
• Grote of Sint-Laurenskerk - Near the modern Market Hall stands a 14th-century church, whose tower remarkably survived the Rotterdam bombings. Now primarily an event venue, you’ll discover its history and learn about Erasmus, a notable figure born here.
• Witte Huis - Visit the White House (Het Witte Huis), the most prominent building in the Old Harbour area. As Europe’s oldest skyscraper, dating back to 1898, it holds great significance for the city. Look closely to spot remnants of German bullet holes, and your guide will share its fascinating story.
• Old Harbour - Explore the Oude Haven (Old Harbour) area, now a bustling recreational spot with numerous terraces. Admire more of Piet Blom’s architecture and the historic ships docked for restoration. The actual port of Rotterdam is now located several kilometers west.
