Would for sure recommend! - Went in April 2025, which isn't hatching season but still learned a lot and saw 4 kiwi's - 3 almost ready to go back into the wild and 1 that needed to be hand fed. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. This place is not government funded, so knowing that your ticket price goes to helping the hatchery, was nice. Tour was about an hour. Totally worth it. Would recommend. Where the van picks you up to drive to the hatchery (about 4 mins across the farm), was a farm with other activities and other animals to see as well.

Interesting and informative - Really enjoyable tour. In April the eggs have mostly hatched (there was just one in the hatchery - with just two weeks to go) but that didn't detract from the visit. As well as seeing adult Kiwis, we were lucky enough to see one hatchling. The tour is very informative about Kiwis generally and also the importance of hatching the chicks in a protected envirionment ready for release in the wild (10x better survival rate).

You cannot take photos of... - You cannot take photos of the live kiwis. But it was lovely to see them. There is video footage of them as you are taken through the tour that you can copy

Fantastic! - Highly recommend this - very professional and we saw a baby kiwi and an egg about to hatch! Val was a great explainer (very funny) and Karen an awesome driver. Its super cool as you get to see the Agrodome farm as well. Highly recommend!

Great experience - We are from Auckland and were taking my cousin from UK around to get a view of a Kiwi and found the whole presentation and story of conservation efforts exceptional. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and I would strongly recommend a visit. With all proceeds going back to the trust it is a very worthy venture

good tour! - learning more about the kiwi was super nice! it's cool to see the hatchery and try to find the few kiwis inside the glass rooms. Would have loved a few more contact with the kiwis, or go into the closed gates as for zelandia.

Hatchery is great but Viator could add more information about the Agrodome - The hatchery is a great place to learn about kiwis and actually see them. I just wish Viator had given more information about the Agrodome as we could have spent several more hours there, but we had booked another tour right after the hatchery. It would have been nice to know about this.
