Ups and downs with whales - The experience ended up very well. The boat had mechanical difficulties and we had to push back a day. The boat was still on the fritz the following day but they rented a boat from another company. I am not sure that means the tour was with them or the other company but either way, they lived up to my expectations and we saw many sperm whales.

SAY YES TO THIS TOUR COMPANY :) - Fantastic tours — highly recommend Waitukubuli Tours We had two amazing experiences with Waitukubuli Tours while visiting Dominica and would absolutely book with them again. Our island day tour with Tiffany was a highlight of our trip. She’s incredibly knowledgeable, fun, and quickly became a fast friend. We were traveling with our 19-month-old, and the company even provided a car seat, which made the day much easier. Tiffany took us to Trafalgar Falls, the Botanical Gardens, and several incredible lookout points, sharing tons of history and local insight along the way. We also did their whale watching tour. Even though we didn’t see whales that day, we saw dozens of dolphins — including babies — swimming alongside the boat, which was magical. The bottomless rum punch didn’t hurt either. Our toddler joined us for everything and had an absolute blast. When we come back to Dominica, we will 100% book with Waitukubuli again.

Once in a lifetime experience! - Everything was great! We saw the whales, and overall it was a beautiful experience. The only thing I didn’t really like was the communication with the guide, as he was a bit impolite. But since the main goal was accomplished, we just didn’t pay much attention and enjoyed the moment hahaha.

Very well organised and highly recommended! - The trip was very well organised, with just the right number of people and the right amount of time to not feel crowded or rushed. I cannot believe how amazing it was to see the whales and we had lots of time to absorb the experience. It was lovely to see the dolphins as they chased our boat and again, the Captain took time to loop the boat round for us to see them again. The views of Dominica on the return trip are spectacular. It was just an amazing experience.

Successful morning whale-spotting! - A nice morning out on the water about a mile or so off Dominica’s west coast in a comfy speedboat seating about 10 pax. Spotted four sperm whales in three hours: lots of spouting from all four, two dives with flukes showing and even nice views of large square head on one. Captain well informed and friendly. Water, ginger ale and rum punch served en route (the latter in last hour). Recommend although sightings not guaranteed. (Captain keeps respectful distance from whales so didn’t get super-close.)

Sadly the whales decided not to show - Obviously having saved up for our big holiday and having looked forward massively as a highlight of our entire trip we weren’t hugely saddened not to see a single whale nor dolphin. Yet appreciate that can happen. Mr Beanz was incredibly personable and good company and is a credit to the company. He persisted and stayed out longer in search of marine life. Naturally it felt a long trip with no exhilaration having never seen a whale in our lives. The trip back along the coastline with an opportunity to swim and then later enjoy some marvellous rum punch were highlights. We were only a small group of 9 thus a small speedboat. As Mr Beanz needed to drive with the voice is was difficult for him to interact with those of us at the front of the boat thus those at the back did arguably get a greater experience. We did get underway a little later than planned for our the morning trip and one would expect a quick apology & explanation which didn’t happen yet we’ve come to realise the Caribbean way! And as stated above we did stay out longer.

Nice boat trip - Well, they promised us an eight person. Boat and the boat held maybe 40 or 50 people but good news was there were maybe 20 on it. The crew were very pleasant. We did not see any sperm whale since they were pilot whales in the area which scare them away. We did see pilot whales just FYI, not much to see mostly fin sticking out of the water that’s nobody’s fault. It’s just the way it is. It was a pleasant way to spend the morning and then go back to the ship for lunch

Disorganized and uncomfortable, but we saw pilot whales - We were told to meet at 9am. Boat didn’t pick us up until 10:15. Was supposed to be 9:30. Boat itself was really not designed for whale watching and was uncomfortable. We saw lots of Pilot Whales.

Pretty disappointed with the... - Quite disappointed with the service, I expected 3 hours of observation of cetaceans, finally we only had 1h30, and very little information from the captain, no real guide with scientific information. No use of the hydrophone though in the boat. Is it functional? The exercise ends with an hour and a half around the bar with the music playing. Not at all what I expected. Too bad.
