- Civita di Bagnoregio - Information and Exploration: Civita, established 2,500 years ago by the Etruscans, is situated on one of Italy’s oldest routes, linking the Tiber River (a key navigation route in central Italy at the time) and Lake Bolsena. Historically, Civita was accessed through five gates, but today the main entrance is the Santa Maria or della Cava gate. Additionally, Civita can be reached from the valley of the gullies via a tunnel carved into the rock.
