Fantastic - We spent a wonderful day exploring Tivoli, Villa Adriana and Villa d'Este with our guide. It was warm, very well informed and made us understand such a complex story in a simple and easy way. His fluency made the tour pleasant and never overwhelming, despite having so much to see and assimilate. Villa Adriana is huge and could be confusing if you visit alone, but it brought clarity and context to each place. Villa d'Este came alive with its explanations, and we could truly appreciate the beauty and history that hide behind all those incredible fountains. A fantastic guide that made our experience memorable. We couldn't have asked for a better day in Tivoli!

Highly informative and satisfying visit. - We had both a driver and guide. Both were excellent. The guide was deep in knowledge about the sites. Both were very accommodating to the limitations of some of our family members.

WONDERFUL DAY IN TIVOLI - My trip to Hadriano's Estate and Tivoli Gardens was the BEST part of my trip TO ROME!!
Fabrizio IS THE BEST! It's not every day that you get an Archiology major as a tour guide!

Worthy to visit! - Both are pretty but Villa D’Este is super beautiful! Our tour guide Mohamed is very pleasant and friendly! We had a private car with driver and tour guide for two of us! So our time at each attraction was very flexible!

Fabio was incredibly... - Fabio was incredibly knowledgeable and a great guide.

Great Archaeology tour - I neglected to indicate a meeting point for pick-up to begin our tour, and the tour guide and driver came straight to our AirBnB that morning after we communicated via WhatsApp. Massimo, our driver, was pleasant (didn't seem to know English enough to try communicating) and Fabio, the tour guide, was a young and patient archaeologist. Italy is known for its expertise in archaeology, therefore is probably inundated with so many, with lack of funds to dig up and maintain sites, that people like Fabio must earn a living in a different way. Voilá, we had an expert tour guide!!
He took care of the drive, answered all questions thoroughly, and at the sites of Villa Hadriana and Villa d'Este, pointed out unique and specific features. He shared previously held understanding of different parts of Hadrian's grounds, and the current understanding. We learned a lot about archaeology itself, as well as about the sites.
We were a group of four upper-sixties adults, and he paced the treks according to our physical level. Accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable. I have been to these sites now three times, and Fabio's explanations focused on almost entirely different points than our previous tours. I do enjoy history, but mixed with the archaeology it was even better.

5-star but disorganized tour booked in Italian I found myself on a tour in English - I booked a semi-private tour in Italian, also confirmed by Viator customer service, but at the time of the meeting I found myself in front of an American couple who spoke English and the guide who informed me that the tour would be conducted in English. The situation was quite embarrassing for both me and the driver. Despite the difficulties, with the help of the translator and the
guide who alternated English and Italian to ensure that I could follow.
Apart from this significant problem, considering also the price paid, the guide was fantastic and did everything to make us participate. The driver was also great; finding the van with the air conditioning on after waiting outside in 35 degrees was a real relief.
In general, I award the tour four stars. If I only had to rate the organization, I'd probably only give it one star. I hope this feedback will help improve the experience for future customers."
