Maria (AM) and Sylvia (PM) were fantastic guides! - Morning tour: Maria did a great job sharing her love and knowledge of art throughout the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s, answering all questions. In particular she oriented us before the Sistine Chaoel, maximizing our time and enjoyment. Afternoon tour: Sylvia did an excellent job of sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm of St. Paul Outside The Walls, St. John Lateran and St. Mary Major. She did a great job of connecting Church history and the contributions of the popes as they shaped these three papal basilicas. Both guides were fun, extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their subjects. Highly recommend these tours and the guides. Great job, ladies!

Amazing tour with the amazing Silvia. - Silvia R. was just a wonderful guide. She brought her vast knowledge, passion , humor, and intelligence to our visit. St. John's Basilica was absolutely breathtaking. Some of the views of Rome that could be seen were amazing. The most crowded area was definitely the Sistine Chapel, but just being there was.....well, words can't describe it. The whole tour was overwhelming, really. So much history in those few acres of land. Our whole family loved this tour. It would've been great to have Silvia guiding us on the rest of our trip.

Maria & Flavia both a Rockstar! - We had an amazing experience, and what truly made it a 5-star tour were our incredible guides, Maria and Flavia. They were both highly knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about what they do. Our family learned so much throughout the tour, and they made the entire experience enjoyable and memorable. Thank you for such a wonderful day!

Educational tour of the Vatican Museum and St Peter’s Basilica… very enjoyable - Our guide Luciana, was fantastic. We started at the Vatican Museum where we saw a view of the Vatican gardens and the dome of St Peter’s Basilica. Luciana patiently took us through the amazing sculptures and corridors and frescos of the Vatican Museum. She explained the significance of many of the artworks. Highlights included amazing tapestries and the map corridor. We then moved to St Peter’s Basilica through the grottoes where many popes have sarcophagi and tombs. Inside the basilica, we skipped the line and the basilica was fairly quiet inside with easy access to all of the main features including the amazing 10-storey high altar, and the multitude of amazing sculptures and religious relics within the basilica. Highlights included Michelangelo’s Pieta (Madonna and deceased Jesus). Luciana was extremely knowledgeable about the Popes and all the artworks within the basilica. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this educational and leisurely experience, mainly thanks to Luciana

Great tour for the 2025 Jubilee Year - This was a wonderful tour of the Vatican Museums. Our guide was very knowledgeable on the significant pieces in this vast museum. This is important since it’s easy to get involved in a piece which isn’t as significant as another. The crowds were huge since it was the day before the museum would be closed for a holiday and she managed to keep all of us organized. The after portion to visit the holy doors and visit the three other major basilica’s in Rome was also well done. The tour was truncated since a service was beginning at the last church. However, our guide provided us with the important information on the church. This was a great way to visit the four major churches during the Jubilee Year

Just way too many people during the Jubilee - Extremely crowded due to Jubilee visitors. Could not see T Peter’s Basilica due to the Pope and Jubilee activities. Neither were the fault of the tour guides. Mary did the best possible under the circumstances, but it always seemed like we were hurrying by all the things worth seeing just to get through the crowds. There were so many people there to see things that nobody got to see much of anything.

Would not use City Wonders again - Booked tour for family of 4 for Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica. Our tour was booked for Holy Thursday at 8am. When we arrived for our tour at 7:40am we were told that we wouldn’t be able to go to the Basilica as Holy Thursday mass was on, but we could go back later that day ourselves if we wished, without the tour guide!!! We contacted the tour company afterwards to ask for partial refund but we have just received replies quoting disclaimer saying that they have no control over unexpected closures of the Basilica! Holy Thursday is one of the most significant dates of the Vatican calendar and therefore a company that is organising tours of the Vatican every day would be well aware of the probability of restrictions for Holy Thursday. The company have been very official and quick with their standard replies of ‘we’re sorry but we’re not willing to budge!’ We paid quite a lot of money for the tour and we did not even get to the Basilica. No partial refund, nothing offered. Very unsatisfactory and would not use this company in the future.

There is no ‘skip the line’ - misleading offer from this group - DO NOT think you can ‘skip the line’ you can’t - so avoid city wonders. They don’t offer anything over a normal ticket. We just waited to join their own queue only to be then sent to the 9.30 queue to ‘self guide’. Waste of money and time.

Horrible Customer Service - Beware!!! This tour was operated by City Wonders. We had booked the (All Day Vatican and 4 Basilica Tour (8 hour tour)) We showed up at our scheduled time of 8am went through the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica (3.5 hours) the tour guide dismissed the group and we asked about the continuation of our tour we booked. She was confused and not sure what to do to help us. She acted like we were placed on the wrong tour. She tried to help us out and she reached someone and she said to go back to the meeting point and someone would be there at 1:30pm so we went there and waited for 2 hours. During that time we were emailing Viator trying to get some type of customer service support from City Wonders and had no luck. At 1:40pm we went back to our hotel and requested refund. At 2pm received call saying the tour guide is waiting (call came after we requested refund from Viator) the 2pm time was something new to us since that was never emailed/called to us with the separate check in time. We had went with what the tour guide had said.. The communication was horrible. City Wonders won’t show us any proof of where they told us about the 2pm check in time. They failed and won’t refund us our money. They will leave you stranded searching for answers trying to figure it out and refuse to be honest that they messed up. Horrible customer service. Viator needs to investigate City Wonders and maybe not associate with them. So beware booking with City Wonders they will rip you off.
