• Via del Mascherone & Vicolo dei Venti - Along our route we’ll discover several madonelles or “little madonnas” and we’ll learn about how they worked to stop crime.

• Ponte Sisto - The oldest bridge in Rome, Ponte Sisto has a gruesome past that involved tragic accidents, power struggles, theft and of course, suspicious deaths.

• Fontana del Mascherone - Unlike other fountains in Rome, this one bears a warning to all those who dare drink from it.

• Chiesa di Santa Maria dell’Orazione e morte - This 17th century church decorated in human remains from long ago reminds visitors that death is just around the corner.

• Via di Monserrato - Now a haunted apartment block, this was the site of one of the worst prisons in Rome’s history.

• Chiesa di Santa Maria in Monserrato degli Spagnoli - This Spanish church in the heart of Rome bears a saucy story worthy of a telenovela.

• Via Giulia - This former bar had an even earlier history as a beauty shop. Here you’ll learn about the story of when cosmetics can kill.

• Via dell’Arco dei Banchi - This seemingly quaint house once belonged to Rome’s most famous executioner “Mastro Titta”.

• Castel Sant’Angelo - The bridge that was used to expose the bodies of the executed to be a warning to sinners is now surrounded by statues of angels and tells the story of the Cenci family and how they met their fatal end.
