Absolutely Perfect Rome Tour with Rome Private Excursions! - We did A LOT of research before choosing a tour company for our one day in Rome, and we are so glad we went with Rome Private Excursions! From the start, the booking process was seamless. Luca made it incredibly easy and allowed us to fully customize our itinerary based on what we wanted to see. They were always quick to respond to our questions and special requests—such as ensuring we had an English-speaking driver. And let me tell you, they absolutely delivered! Sal, our driver, was amazing. He was waiting for us right as we disembarked from the ship and immediately made sure we were comfortable—adjusting the air conditioning, providing water, and making sure we were ready for the day. He also took the time to ask thoughtful questions to tailor the experience perfectly to us (e.g., quick lunch vs. sit-down, preferred return time, etc.). We wanted to see as much of Rome as possible in one day—and Sal made it happen! Our brains were full (in the best way) from all the incredible sights and historical facts/insights. Sal truly knows and loves Rome, and his passion is contagious. In the afternoon, we met Paula, our guide for the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. She was absolutely fantastic—so knowledgeable and engaging. She pointed out details we never would have noticed on our own and shared fascinating historical context that brought everything to life. After our Vatican tour, Sal was right there to pick us up and return us to the ship right on time. My husband and I have repeatedly said how perfect this day was—better than we could have ever imagined. In fact, we honestly can’t think of a single thing we’d change. If you’re considering a tour of Rome, I can confidently say you won’t go wrong with Rome Private Excursions, Sal as your Rome guide, and Paula for touring the Vatican. Highly recommended!

Awesome Rome - Manny was excellent! No phone calls nor texting while he drove us (unlike our 2 other drivers from different transport services). He shared his love of his Roma with us - history, scenery, beauty. We went to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, the Vatican City (Sistine Chapel!), Appian Way. We saw the Pantheon, the “Wedding Cake”, and other historical sites. We highly recommend this customized tour of Rome and make sure to request Manny. So worth it!

Best day in Rome - We had the best day with our tour guide! We had the opportunity to see so much with this tour vs others on large tour buses. We felt like the tour was designed with our needs and Alejandro went out of the way to make it very special! I recommend and will book again

From Cruise Port to Rome - A fascinating and interesting day in Rome - My husband and I were only in Rome for a day after a 10-day cruise of the Mediterranean. We had only a short time to see the sites in Rome and our tour guide, John, was wonderful! His English was perfect (he was even from USA) and his knowledge of the Roman culture and history was impressive. He picked us up at the Civitavecchia cruise port and drove us to Rome. He tailored the tour of Rome to our interests. He dropped us off at our hotel by the airport when we were finished. We loved the tour! Highly recommended.

Day #1 of Conclave in Rome - I highly recommend this tour company. We arrived in Civitavecchia after an 11-day cruise which started in Lisbon. The driver (Giovanni/John) picked us up at the port and took us to Rome, where we were given a 6-hour city tour, after which he dropped us off at our hotel. He was very informative and gave us all the historical information about the sites we visited.....Piazza Navona, the Colosseum, Fontana di Trevi, Spanish Steps, Appian Way, Pantheon, Roman Forum, just to name a few. If you only have 1 day in Rome and want to make the best of it, call this tour company. You won't be disappointed.

Best Tour and Tour Guide in Rome - We booked Rome Private Excursions for 4 of us from Civitavecchia Port. Our guide (Claudio) was waiting for us as we left the ship and drove us to Rome where the magic began. Claudio is from Rome and knows everything there is to know about it. We learned so much more than we ever knew from reading books. We were able to see EVERYTHING we wanted to see and sites we didn't know existed. We are hoping to travel to Italy again and when we do, will book Rome Private Excursions at every stop. Of course in Rome....we will insist on Claudio as our guide again. Trust this company and listen to them when they make suggestions, especially regarding Skip the Line Tickets. If you don't, you risk not seeing certain sites. We took two other private tours (Florence/Pisa and Amalfi Coast/Pompeii) and will post about those as well.

Fantastic quick tour of Rome! - We had an absolutely wonderful tour! With only about 7 hours on a cruise stopover, we were able to see the catacombs, the colosseum (including the interior), St Peters square, the Trevi fountain, and SO MUCH more. Winding through the small downtown streets and seeing the city view from an elevated viewpoint were highlights. We learned so much from the excellent commentary from Michele, our very personable driver/guide. We were picked up and dropped off on schedule. We highly recommend this tour company.
