Stress free tour to Pompeii with group - Traveling with Italia Tours made getting to Pompeii easy and hassle free especially with our family group of 9. Generally I was the guide around Rome and this gave me a break from trying to figure out transfers, etc. Mario was our guide. He was friendly and spoke excellent English. He always made sure everyone was present. He was calm and informative and took excellent care of us even facilitating the retrieval of a list phone that was left on the bus. 5 hours in Pompeii wasn't enough time though. Our family felt like we needed 2 days there (ages 14-57). But it is enouttine to get a taste of Pompeii in a busy schedule. It was a highlight for our family. I would very much recoythis tour with Mario.

Smooth and Fun - Hands down the best part of our holiday to Italy was this trip to Pompeii. I've visited Pompeii previously and did all the logistics myself... never again. Everything was taken care of (train, bus, entrance, and a lunch recommendation) so we showed up to the train station and were on our way. Our travel guide, Fabrizio, made sure we had all of the information we needed to navigate the day. Of course, the visit to Pompeii was exceptional with a lot to see. We spent about four hours exploring the archeological site on our own and definitely could have stayed longer.
We made the mistake of being too excited and entering the site and then realizing we didn't get a map. Be sure to pick these up BEFORE you enter the grounds. For first timers, would recommend reserving a private or group tour (1-2 hours) of the grounds to give you more history and context to the site, or to rent the audio guides from the museum shop. (We used google maps and the museum's website to navigate the grounds and learn about the different points of interest.) Even still, we had an excellent time.
After a great day at the site the group made our way back to Rome in time for dinner.
Purchasing the day trip made our travel smooth and fun. We were able to focus on enjoying the day and not worrying about transferring from train to bus to the site. As regular travelers who prefer the independent approach, would highly recommend this experience package as a way to take some of the logistics and stress off your holiday.

Great trip! Definitely recommend! - We are so happy we booked this! Meet up was very easy at the train station. Shuttle to Pompeii was also great as our tour guide educated us along the way. Once we got there we had plenty of time to explore and even had time to grab some food at a restaurant outside of the gates. Would definitely recommend this trip!

Awesome Pompei and wine tasting trip. - Enzo was very knowledgeable about pompei. He also brought us to the Medici winery for a tasting and lunch. That was great. I recommend this tour group. Ask for Enzo!!! Spring for the wine tasting and lunch part too. You won’t be disappointed.

Outstanding Tour! - Lucas was organized and delightful. The train ride was beautiful and the bus transfer seamless even though we had a large group of all ages. This tour made the journey much more relaxing not having to manage transport and tickets. Pompeii is indescribable. I had no idea there was so much beauty and artistry left to explore! The city is huge and we definitely will come back! Book this tour, it’s amazing!

Exactly what we wanted - We wanted to go to Pompeii but experience it on our own and that's exactly what we got to do. Fabrizio was great and we felt taken care of every step of the way.
We got to explore for hours the beautifully preserved ruins and that is what we wanted, since the usual 2 to 3 hours most tours offer wouldn't have been enough.

Too difficult for older people - Very mysterious and beautiful. I have mobility issues and it was too didfficult for me to get too far into the site. Its a long walk to the site from the ticket check in. We left early and went to the restaurant our guide recommended.
The best Margetia pizza I have ever tasted. This area is the birthplace of this
pizza. The site was good to see. I had folks helping me several times. There are really good people in this world.
