This was a great trip for... - This was a great trip for us. We enjoyed everything from the high speed train, the informative introduction during the coach trip from Naples to Pompei, the guided tour and the wonderful lunch and wine tasting. To have guide, Felicity, who is a trained archaeologist and restoration specialist was unexpected and it added a depth of knowledge to the tour. Of course it wasn’t long enough but then 2 years would not be long enough to spend in Pompeii ! However by focusing on the story of people unnamed in history, we had a coherent view of day to day life. A wonderful day to spend with my family of young adults.

Great daytrip into history - This is the best way to see Pompeii. The guide met us at the station got us on the train and traveled with us to Naples where our group was handed off to a local guide to tour the ruins. Felica was an amazing guide that made the town come to life. Her knowledge and passion were incredible. The winery stop was a great lunch with lots of wine before the trip home.

A great way to learn ancient Pompeii and get a bit tipsy - The tour is a great way to learn the fascinating history of the unfortunate history of Pompeii and Ancient Rome in general. It is fascinating to see all the ancient buildings and the way of life that are preserved due to the unfortunate volcano eruption.

Fabulous!! - This was the absolute highlight of our entire trip to Rome! 🌟 From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of perfection. The day was flawlessly organized—starting with a seamless meet-up at Termini station, followed by a mind-blowing tour of Pompeii’s archaeological park, and capped off with a spectacular wine tasting featuring delicious pasta and heavy appetizers that were to die for! 🍝🍷 Pompeii is massive, but our guide, Federica, was a total rockstar! She expertly navigated us to all the must-see spots, and I was completely blown away by her incredible knowledge and sharp wit. She made history come alive in the best way possible! 🏛️✨ I am over the moon with this experience and couldn't be happier. If you are in Italy, do not miss this! Thank you for the memories of a lifetime! 🙌🇮🇹

Great trip - From check in to good bye this was highly organized. Everything had been carefully planned. Even the chaotic train station was carefully organized.

Highly Average - I was very excited about this tour in the way it was described. One notable thing, while they do not say 'small group', I was surprised to see exactly how large of a group we were. My fault for not asking about the group size, but that was a slight dissappoinment right off the bat. Overall, not completely dissatisfied, but for what this was, it did NOT deliver equivalent value to the cost. The guides were all professional and wonderful, as was the van driver from Naples to Pompeii. Also, nice train ride, they give you business class. The Pompeii ruins tour was good, but there hardly any plaster casts (??). Also, the size of the group made it hard to get a great experience at the ruins. The lunch is most definitely NOT NOT NOT 'farm to table' - that description is grossly INNACURATE, and borderline deceptive. It was cold cuts from the grocery store + highly mediocre, undercooked pasta, with a bland sauce. The winery was fun, the staff was friendly, but the wines were not great ond one of the wines was actually terrible (if anyone is familiar with Temecula, CA - that particlar wine tasted like a bad Temecula wine - shocking!). My score is 5 for the tour staff, 3 for the ruins tour, and 2 for the lunch, and 1 for the enormous group size. Knowing what now I know, I would have passed on this large group tour with the bad lunch and opted to spend the money for smaller group, with the high speed train, and no lunch.

No room on the bus - What a disaster! This tour was booked over 6 weeks in advance specifically for this date. After getting up very early and arriving at the starting point, we got to the bus only to find there wasn't enough room for our party of 4 (along with approx. 7-9 others). While the tour vendor tried to find an alternative date for us (keep in mind we had limited time in Rome), all other Pompeii tours contracted with booking.com were sold out. Now whether this whole situation was because of an over-booking by booking.com, or a snafu due to bad communication, I don't know. The tour company was able to authorize a full refund. After an extensive search via cellphone at a local (very cold) McD's we finally found the same tour with the same tour company through another booking agency at an additional cost. For any other tour we probably wouldn't have paid more, but this was to be one of the highlights of our trip.
