A great Tour to Ostia Antica - We had two aspects to our experience in Ostia Antica. First, the site itself is very well preserved, and you can get around it in about 3 hours. It is the seaport that fed ancient Rome, and you can see all the various occupations and businesses that were part of a 60,000-person city to accomplish such a feat. The Roman baths, the storefronts, the theatre, even the community toilets. Excellent. We were just in Pompei as well, and this side trip did not disappoint. The second aspect of the experience was our guide, Sarah. She was timely and friendly. Her knowledge of the site is utterly fantastic. She explained so many details and also showed us some cool hidden sites. Watch out for spiders! Just kidding. If you go, please ask for Sarah, who is also a local Rome visual artist. Magnifico!

Our tour guide, Sarah,... - Our tour guide, Sarah, was very knowledgeable and accommodating. She provided us an excellent and informative tour of Ostia Antica. We met outside of the Rome train station, and Sarah had a clearly marked sign indicating she was the Viator tour guide, making her easy to identify. Ostia Antica is an interesting and lightly traveled tourist destination. It was a very enjoyable get away from the city of Rome.

A tour through Ostia Antica with a very kind guide! - Celia shared so many amazing details about life in Ostia. I am a Latin teacher and I was impressed with her understanding of the ancient world. She was also charming and made our morning very enjoyable.

Informative tour with Celia - Celia was my host and provided lots of useful information to explain what we were seeing, in a friendly and relaxed manner. I actually was the only person book on this particular tour, I appreciated that they still ran it and didn't cancel for lack of numbers. Ostia Antica gives a great view of what everyday life was like compared to just seeing ad hoc sites/ruins in central Rome.

Sonija Perrera was our... - Sonija Perrera was our tour guide. She did a great job running the tour. We had a great time! The site reminded us of Pompeii, but was much closer to Rome and not crowded by tourists. The small, semi-private tour was a very good setting for us.

Visit this place - it's a must! - What an amazing morning spent in this historical Roman city. We couldn't believe how intact this city is and how few people know about it! Our guide, Sarah, was so passionate and informative; she went the extra mile on this informative and entertaining tour. We absolutely loved being in her company and learning so much about this hidden gem.

Ostia Antica with Sonia - My teenaged son and I had a great tour with Sonia P. as our guide. Highly recommended. Sonia is very knowledgeable and took us throughout the expansive ruins, providing lots of insights about the daily lives of the ancient Romans. If you’re a history enthusiast, you will love this informative tour. It was also nice to get away from the crowded attractions of downtown Rome.

Rome's hidden gem - Really enjoyed walking around the ancient roads of Ostia and into the ruins of the buildings. Our guide (Sarah) really brought the port to life with her excellent knowledge and stories. Sarah was also very helpful about other Roman experiences on offer.

Very knowledgeable guide - Great tour. We have had Sarah as a guide. Very knowledgeable. We appreciated it because it was only the two of us doing the tour and wasn’t cancelled. She was great at explaining all the places we went. Thank you!

A Great Place to Visit and an Interesting Tour - My family and I had a fantastic time exploring the port . The guide was very informative and shared little known facts about the history of the roman empire, taking time showing us around the site at our own pace. The overall experience was good, with the only issue being the slight lack of information relating to the start of the tour.
