Renaissance Masters, known and unknown. - Expect to be overwhelmed with the paintings the royal family commissioned over the centuries. I was astonished at the variety, known and unknown (at least to me) of the painters in this museum, which still houses the family descendents on an upper floor.
I appreciate their willingness to share their collection with the visitors.
There are chairs to sit in if you need to take a break. The prinsmce auditory guide is amazing as he explains each room.
The crowd became bigger after we arrived, so if you want less congestion, go early in the morning.
I am glad I chose to go, this collection is a must see in person.

EXTRAORDINARY PRIVATE COLLECTION - In the magnificent Palazzo Doria Doria Pamphilj, a large monumental complex overlooking Via del Corso, built between the 16th and 18th centuries, is the extraordinary private collection of works of art of the Galleria Doria Pamphilj. The majestic and splendid façade, with a dense succession of windows adorned with imaginative framing, has portals with columns with capitals with heraldic lily and beautiful balconies. On the first floor of the palace there is the extraordinary private art collection, one of the largest, commissioned by Pope Innocent X (Pamphili family), augmented by subsequent prudent purchases and the marriage of his nephew Camillo to Olimpia Aldobrandini, who brought as a dowry other works of art, inheritance of his uncle. The collection was enriched in the following centuries with the entry of the Doria Pamphilj branch, which carry other works, and with purchases until the end of the nineteenth century. For the visit, you enter through a beautiful entrance of Via del Corso that leads to the magnificent courtyard with Bramante Cloister, where a staircase leads to the first floor. The wonderful path starts from the Representative Rooms, then from the first hall, called del Pussino, a splendid and large space richly frescoed on the ceiling, which displays beautiful landscape paintings and consoles with precious busts and heads from the Roman era. This hall is followed by four other rooms, all sumptuous and magnificent, decorated and rich in splendid works of art, up to the beautiful Chapel, which concludes the first path. The second wonderful itinerary, that of the Gallery, includes the four arms of the Gallery, sumptuously decorated and rich in exceptional and valuable works of art (also by great Italian and foreign artists), four rooms, two halls and two toilets: another triumph of decorations and enchanting works of art. The third and last wonderful route, that of the Private Apartments, consists of seven rooms and lounges, starting with the magnificent Throne Room, all extraordinary, with the same common thread as the others, exceptional decorations and works of art. Fascinating and exciting path, full of extraordinary and enchanting beauty, which left us inside a unique emotion and filled us with amazement all the senses; to be done slowly (it took about 3 hours) to capture the infinite beauty that emanates and remains indelible! The visit of the Gallery is organized in a perfect way, buying the ticket for the visit at the entrance, in the Cloister of Bramante (€ 16,00, great!!!) and receiving at the beginning of the path a very useful and clear audio guide: organization, care of the place and friendly and helpful staff, make the visit truly magnificent! Inside there is a well-stocked shop for the purchase of informative material and souvenirs. A unique place full of wonders!!!! Must visit, super recommended!!!!

Highly recommend this tour - Small audio guide provided by gallery. Easy to use and can use own headphone with jack or pin like attachment not Bluetooth or usb/c. Otherwise just can be held like a phone to the ear. Very thorough and nice selection of art discussed as well as family history.

Splendour from the 16th and 17th centuries - After visiting the Trevi Fountain we wanted to shelter from the rain. In the announcement on the internet about this museum it was already indicated that it is a beautiful private collection that is exhibited in this museum.
Apart from the collection on display, you have to look at the complete picture, the building, the decorations in the building, the paintings and the sculptures.
All gathered together by a family is connected was to the Pope and the highest circles of the Catholic Church in the 16th and 17th centuries. Politics is power and wealth (still topical today) and you can see that here.
The Velasques paintings great. The Breughel paintings are also beautiful. The rest is dated and not etc special.
I like the sculpture collection very much. Seen great pieces here. Interesting is also the painting The Money Changers. This painting is also still current.
If you have time to spare, just go to this museum and marvel at how power and wealth go together.

In addition to not being accessible they also make fun - As a blind sculptor I am interested in visiting places where art is accessible. I asked the ticket office to touch the works and was told no, because it is an art gallery. As soon as we entered we were faced with numerous sculptures. On the way out I made my representations and was told that the fault lies with the superintendency that does not fund the improvements and that the museum is not even open to wheelchair users. Unfortunately less than a star you can not put...
