- As this is a walking tour with steps, staircases and uneven surfaces, comfortable shoes and a bottle of water are strongly recommended.

- This is an inside archaeological site and even in the summer it can be cold, so you are advised to wear suitable clothing for this tour.

Tour of a long lost and (mostly) hidden treasure - This is an experience everyone should opt for if you are in Rome. The guide was wonderful, knew his stuff and was able to answer all questions. I will return someday.

Amazing Tour - This is the second time I toured the Domus Aurea with Through Eternity Tours and have never been disappointed. The tour guides are outstanding and very knowledgeable.
The underground tour of Nero's golden house is just amazing. The virtual experience is the grand finale of the tour and it places you right back in time to the roman era.
I would highly recommend this tour.

Worth the cost - AI-assisted tour - Lady Barb, our guide, was fantastic. She knew so much about Roman history, not just the Domus Aurea that we toured, but was able to connect it to the history and context of all the other major monuments.

Amazing tour and guide! - Our tour was exceptional! Our guide, Elena M., was a trained archeologist with advanced degrees in the field. This was very special for us as my daughter is studying archeology in school. She was able to share information appropriate to both our levels of knowledge: me as a beginner and my daughter who is studying ancient Rome in college. She was an engaging storyteller and she could answer questions on a variety of topics, pointing to current research and theories. This location was well worth visiting. It was so cool to be underground in this ancient palace. Highly recommend!

Amazing tour! To have an... - Amazing tour! To have an archaeologist as your tour guide in an active dig and restoration of Nero’s house of gold was super rewarding and memorable!

Traveling through time in the Domus - This was an amazing tour! I won’t ruin the surprise in the middle of the tour, but it is well worth the time and the money. I had my seven kids with me age range 15 to 26 and they were all engaged and interested. The tour was very informative and fun. Our guide Catia was exceptional. She gave a great back story before entering, which made touring the inside more enriching.

An incredible underground... - An incredible underground experience and well worth doing. The only reason i docked 1 star is because the official Dormus Aurea guide had quite poor English so it was very difficult for us to understand him :-(

The value added by the... - The value added by the Viator representative was minimal. The official Domus Aurea guide did a fine job, and the 3D presentation was great. I would not recommend anything other than an official tour to a friend - it’s not worth the extra money to pay for Viator in this case.

Mixed experience - Seeing Domus Aurea is an experience not to be missed. Our guide was knowledgeable but her English was heavily accented and unintelligible at times.

Through Eternity Tours, a company you should not trust. - I booked and paid the tour weeks in advance, only to be informed that my booking had been cancelled with no justifications just one day before the date. This is not a serious company, avoid it if you do not want last minute bad surprises.
